standard hotel which needs renovation
dudu Nov 1, 2009
Holiday Inn advertises the quality of its breakfasts even in this hotel where the breakfast is served at the adjacent ... Checker's Parrot. We had though a bad experience: the breakfast room is very very dirty, only 1 person for the service so we have been waiting a long time, poor choice, no fresh juice as advertised, no hot chocolate... the dirtiness was however the worst. We recommend to have breakfasts anywhere else. The hotel itself is old, the rooms and bathrooms are standards and not very clean; they need to be renovated, but it was ok as the location in the French quarter is great.

Was in New Orleans for a meeting. Can't beat the location of the hotel. Was a nice place to stay, just a little noisy being ... so close to Bourbon St. It was also not the most pristine hotel I've stayed at, but was fine. Really appreciated use of the computer/internet in the lobby.

The St. Louis Cemetery #1 is really cool to see, but I didn't think the tour was worth the money. If you go, just go during the day with other people--can be a dangerous area. Never go to Cemetery #2--way too dangerous at any time of day.

Early and fast check in. We stayed at the HI French Quarters for 4 nights and the staff was Super friendly, couldn't ask for ... a better group of people. No issues with the room, we had a double room facing Royal st. and we had plenty of space. The room was clean and room service was performed daily.

The Annual New Orleans Trip Guy Sep 21, 2009
This location was good because it offered convenience and location to the entire French Quarter in walking distance. The ... hotel was clean, staff was friendly, rooms were good size and the balcony suite was a nice bonus. The staff was accommodating and knowledgeable. Late checkout was free which was especially important with departure flight changes. The only thing is like almost everywhere in the Quarter, parking costs can add up. Don't forget about that...

New Orleans Trip - Anniversary
lesley Sep 20, 2009
My stay was good. However, a $100 authorization was put on my debit card for incidentals which ruined my trip because I was ... using that money for my stay in new orleans. I was not asked for a credit card for incidentals or I would have given a different card. This was extremely upsetting because I wasn't able to do what I wanted to do and the reason I was in new orleans for the first place.

Habitat traveler Aug 31, 2009
I went to NOLA with a couple friends to do Habitat for Humanity. We wanted to stay in the French Quarter so we'd be able to ... venture out at night and have a fun experience as well. The hotel was in the perfect location. Bourbon is the next street over. We walked around a lot of the French Quarter and we were never too far from the hotel. The streetcar is right across Canal to bring you to the Garden District. The only complaint is that the staff was kind of unfriendly over the phone when we had questions before our stay. But in person they were very nice and accomodating. Overall I had an amazing week and would definitely stay there again.

NOLA diner Aug 24, 2009
This hotel was affordable and within walking distance of everything, french market, great restaurants, canal street, ... aquarium, and insectarium. I have a couple of complaints about the cleanliness of this hotel. The pool was really small and wasn't even cleaned out out of the 7 days that I was there. The fitness "center" had two treadmills and two stationary bikes, one that didn't work. The housekeeping had to be "called in." The staff was friendly though and upgraded our room because the lock didn't work after a one night stay. Then we had a cricket problem! It was distasteful because the bugs were huge! However, the supervisor on duty, [...] was so nice and comped us three breakfasts. I would stay here again but be aware, this is not the cleanest hotel.
