Girls night out

Our room was not ready as promised. There was food in the refrigerator that was not turned on that made the entire room stink. And the phone line was cut so we had no phone to call for extra towels and to tell them about the smell.

Had a great time here

Overall, a great place to stay. Hotel and amenities are very nice and everything, including Bourbon St, is only a short walk away. If I'm ever in New Orleans again I will stay here.

The Hilton didn't wow me

The Hilton is usually a great experience, but this particular location didn't wow me. Of course, it's nice to be close to casinos, restaurants, etc., but our room was hot and we couldn't cool the room. It also smelled of old smoke, but was a non-smoking room. Housekeeping knocked on our door at 8 a.m. to wake us on check-out day, so overall, it wasn't the best night's sleep - which is all I want in a hotel: a good night's sleep.

The Right Spot

From check-in to check out, the staff was courteous, friendly and professional. It's a gorgeous hotel from the decor to the perfect bed (wish I could have brought it back but luggage was too small). The breakfast buffet had everything and more at a very, very reasonable price. The location of this hotel is perfect... streetcar stops practically at the front door and the Harrah (casino) is across the street. The only negative is the price of a can soda.

Would stay again

The hotel is great, prices are expensive but what else do you expect. The only down fall is that cell phone reception is terrible and wifi is NOT free.

room service

I was shocked when I ordered a bowl of soup, two cokes and a cheese cake and the bill was $45.00. The soup was good, the french bread that came with it was terrible, stale and dry. They add a $4.50 service fee on top of the high food cost, ( I know room service isn't cheap) but then they added a $6.50 gratuity too. For $45.00 I could have gone right down stairs to the restaurant and had a good steak. The hotel over all was fine, not that good of a location, I would rather have stayed at the Marriott on Canal, but we couldn't get in and all the other hotels in the french quarter were full.

Weekend Trip

Overall, it was a great weekend. This hotel is in a great location, about a mile from where we were going to see a show. My only complaint is that parking was not included in room price. It was $32 per night plus taxes. Looking back, it's about average parking prices for the area, but it would have been nice to park overnight at the hotel without worrying about paying for it later.

OVER RATED

This hotel triples it rates for events, rides on the "Hilton" name but offers a dark scary cramped parking garage with a hefty charge..., inadaquate valet service, poor customer service, visiblale nasty carpet throughout the hotel and RUDE customer service. Its a great location but NOT worth the price.. In addition the water pressure is low, and the view.... is anything you can see. What a disappointment to the Hilton name.
