Nice hotel for the price

This is a nice hotel for the price range. It is clean, the breakfast is decent with a good variety offered, and the staff is very friendly. It's a bit far from Canal and Bourbon Streets, but the street car stops near the hotel and will take you right there. Buy the day pass for $3.00 and you can take as many rides as you want until 4am. Parking is free and convenient at this Hampton Inn also.

We stumbled upon Galvez Restaurant in the French Quarter. It was right on the river and we had a table with a great view. The food was delicious and authentic. I highly recommend it.

Bon Temps Ici

The hotel staff here are the best ever -- hard working, attentive, and helpful. The ladies serving the breakfast buffet are particularly wonderful. The Uptown location is great, especially if you like fabulous locals restaurants like Dante's, Dick and Jennies, Coulis/Bluebird Cafe, and happy hour on Columns garden patio. I walked most of the time because the big homes and trees are so beautiful, and the gardens and landscape produce flowers and jasmine scents. But you can take the streetcar downtown if you are in a hurry.

Fine hotel for the money

We got there close to 4 pm and our room was not ready yet. We had requested a certain type room. It was ready about 10 minutes later. I usually expect rooms to be ready anytime after check -in time at 3pm. I thought "oh, no" I hope the whole stay is not this way. It wasn't and the room was fine. Not the cleanest hotel I've even been in but the staff was accomodating and the beds were comfortable. Good location in New Orleans. I would stay again, if I needed to stay in the Garden District. Not very close to the French Quarter, if that is where you would rather be.

A pleasant stay

The hotel was quiet and clean. For the most part, the staff was friendly and helpful, especially the staff who worked the breakfast bar in the morning. The hotel seems well-maintained, and is in a very convenient location.
