Historic hotel offers central French Quarter location, courtyard
Brush up on your New Orleans history at this historic inn. The hotel was built in the 1800s for Baron and Baroness Joseph Xavier de Pontalba, and it was the government house when Louisiana was still a French colony. Today's budget-minded tourists can appreciate the proximity to the party without paying Bourbon Street prices. The hotel's staff is eager to make reservations and help with vacation planning.

great time in New Orleans
the location of the hotel is very good (3 blocks from Bourbon St), but at this time the hotel is under renovation and as a result, some services suffered--we had no maid service the first day, had a problem with the drainage in the shower that was never solved, and actually had to call the front desk for toilet tissue. if I recommended this hotel, it would be a qualified recommendation.

Could not have had a better location, close to everything! Only dissapointment was we had double bed instead of a queen which I was promised when booking. everything and everyone was so great we just snuggled up and enjoyed the stay.

girls night out
While the bathrooms could use some updating (but they are working on it) I had no complaints about our stay. The outdoor courtyards are lovely and the beds were comfortable. It was a little strange being in an interior room with no windows but hey it was a good deal. great location, right across from the water.

St. Patty's Day Weekend
Checked in the first day and had booked a two bed room. Got to our room and it was a tiny one bed room. Called the front desk and advised them of the problem and they said we only booked a one bed room. When we told them we had paperwork they said too bad because they were booked. They did however make good on the remaining two nights of our trip and had us move ourselves a different room.

Not Good
The room was clean but the elevators and grounds were dirty. The beds were most uncomfortable. Parking is not good. I used valet parking and it took me over 30 min. to get my car. I should have used the lot across the street, only other choice. The location was good but the staff's attitude was "why are you bothering me".

Nice for cheap
From first look it doesnt look like much but, the staff was always friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable. You cant beat the location!! There was staff 24/7 which wad good. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is on a budget that still wants a nice room. Valet was good with the cars as well. There was alittle problem with noise in the other room but once we shut our door we couldnt hear it anymore.

Breakfast should be included (close-by eatery very poor); room & bathroom badly need worktops; no Wi-Fi in rooms. Beautiful court. Excellent reception staff.
