Good Location
Hotel badly needs an update and new carpet, paint, etc. Had to pay top dollar, BCS Game, almost $400.00 per night with parking. Asked for a non smoking room and was told by girl at checkin they were none available after calling the week before and was told no problem.

Comes with wildlife.....
Woke up... head to the bathroom to take a shower when wham, what jumps on my back? A lizard! Yes a bright green 8 inch long lizard. Didnt know I was paying for two in this room. Asked to have it removed and when I came back in the afternoon he was still in the bathroom warming himself under the lights. So after calling front desk, after asking politely twice and being put on hold I just went downstairs and asked for a different room. And there attitude was oh well. To use Betty Davis' famous words: what a dump!

Just OK
Hotel was understaffed for New Years weekend leaving us waiting to receive our room until 5:30 to check in. Also had to go to the front desk in order to get someone to valet my car as no one was at the valet service desk when I arrived. The rooms themselves were great and beds very comfortable. Location was great for the price being right near the convention center, walkable distance to french quarter and st. charles street trolley.

Windowless with expensive parking
When we arrived, we were informed that there was no self parking for guests. We were also informed that valet parking was $30.00 per day! Once you factor in the tips for valet staff, parking is quite expensive. When we opened the curtains to the only window in the suite, there was a brick wall two feet in front of it. There were also no handtowel racks in the bathroom.

Great staff
The hotel staff was excellent! They were very friendly and helped us with anything we needed as well as navigating around New Orleans. They were very knowledgeable in the things we wanted to do and where the best place to get there and do it. The outside of the hotel was not very glamourous but once inside the rooms were clean and decent.

Nightlife tip:
Long walk from hotel
If you are trying to stay close to Bourbon and the French Quarter, this is not the hotel for you. Bourbon Street is about a mile away. However if you are interested in gambling, this hotel is a very short walk from Harrah's Casino.

The stay was great but we were not informed that their would be a $30.00 a night parking fee. Other than the suprise parking stay was great. Restaurant service was outstanding.
