Overview

Previously the Astor Hotel, the multi-story Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Quarter grew organically from a collection of existing retail buildings and apartments, giving it a hybrid, Crescent City charm. Inside, ironwork stair-rails, exposed brick walls and mismatched lobby seating continue this feel, while the thoroughly modern offerings of outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi and huge 30,000-foot of event space brings the building up-to-date. Pay a visit to Dickie Brennan s Bourbon House Restaurant for the best in local seafare and a cosy Southern welcome.

Greatness all around!

Would recommend Wed, Jan 20, 2016
I absolutely love this hotel! This is my second time in New Orleans and both times I have stayed here. This hotel is located right at Bourbon & Canal, which is the perfect location! Close to amazing restaurants, drinking, and you can hop on the street cars on Canal to take you all over the city. Great location if you want to just walk around NOLA and explore like we did. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The staff is also very welcoming and friendly. I can't wait to go back!

I wouldn't do this again.

Would not recommend Fri, Oct 23, 2015
I was put in a room adjacent to a service elevator that was so noisy I got less than an hour of sleep all night long. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Being sleepy, I thought I'd have a cup of coffee before the drive back home. Nope! There were three packs of decaffeinated coffee, and no regular coffee... None. I'll bet I don't do this again.

Crowne Plaza- Bourbon/Canal

Would not recommend Sat, Oct 17, 2015
I stayed at this hotel 1 1/2 yrs ago and absolutely loved it here- Staff very attentive, rooms clean, very grand. Obviously something has changed since then. Staff not attentive- Offered a queen room when we had booked a king room two months prior. Finally reluctantly gave us the room we booked. The room had mold on the ceiling, the shower/tub knob was broken, cracked tiles/sink- shampoo and conditioner/body wash are in soap dispensers attached to wall. Next morning, we saw a mouse running across the floor in our room. I freaked out and contacted the front desk. The employees did not seem at all surprised about the mouse. We were moved to another/similar room on a different floor-When we walked into the new room, it was very hot. We turned on the A/C and tried to sleep, hoping the A/C would finally cool the room. By the next morning, it was still 80 degrees in our room, so we asked the hotel to have someone try to fix the A/C. An employee arrived and informed us she could not fix the A/C unit and we would have to move to another room. So we were given a queen room two doors down from out previous room. This new room was still in disrepair- broken sink, peeling wall paper, etc, but at least the A/C worked. So sad to see this hotel not being taken care of. It used to be so magnificient, but is obviously not being cared for financially. Would def not recommend this property. Too many other nice, centralized hotels to stay.

Wkend Get Away

Would recommend Wed, Oct 7, 2015
Check in went fine, rooms aren't ready til close to 4:00. Room was clean and very spacious. Wish they would have small fridge in room. Housekeeping was good. The location was great, either walking distance to everything or you can catch the street cars a few steps away. The only problem was valet parking. Instead of the 20 minutes they said to get our car it was 40 minutes. Also I didn't realize until half the way home that my phone car charger had been taken from my car.
