My stay at Crowne Plaza was pleasant

Good location, very helpful and professional staff, and very clean and big rooms. Business center was open 24 hours and ... printing was free! I found it very pleasant, but weird. You have to pay for wireless access in your room, but you can print as many pages as you like for free! Overall, I strongly recommend this hotel.

GREAT Trip!!!!!

Hotel was great!!! Staff was so polite and helpful. This was our first trip back to New Orleans since the Katrina Storm, ... lots of changes in the city. Everyone was so nice, with information and suggestons. We arrived early for checkin and they took care of car, luggage etc. while we went on with other tasks before attending a theater production. It was a very busy Halloween Weekend in the city and they took care of us like we were the only people there!!!! Our first stay at Crowne Plaza Astor but will not be our last!!!! Great location, amenities.

MIXED FEELINGS
HISTORY IN THE BUFF Oct 28, 2009
IT HAD BEEN QUITE AWHILE SINCE I HAD VISITED N.O. SO I READ MANY REVIEWS ABOUT THE VARIOUS HOTELS IN THE FRENCH QUARTER. I ... LOVE HISTORY AND THE QUARTER IS PACKED WITH TONS OF IT. THE ASTOR IS LOCATED RIGHT ON THE CORNER OF BOURBON AND CANAL SO THERE IS NO BETTER LOCATION WHEN YOU WANT TO BE IN THE HEART OF THE ACTION. BE PREPARED, HOWEVER, TO LISTEN TO THE HEARTBEAT ALL NIGHT LONG, AND I MEAN ALL NIGHT. I THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE A ORDINANCE OR SOMETHING TO KICK IN AT ABOUT 2 A.M. LIKE IN OTHER CITIES. NOT SO. THIS PLACE DOES NOT QUIET DOWN UNTIL DAWN. THE FURNISHINGS ARE A BIT DATED. THE BED IS NOT AS ADVERTISED. I WAS UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE MATTRESS. STAFF, LOCATION AND CLEANLINESS ALL FIRST RATE. ON A SUNDAY MORNING I WAS ABLE TO TOUR QUITE A BIT OF THE FRENCH QUARTER IN ABOUT TWO HOURS ON FOOT. I COULD NOT PUT MY CAMERA AWAY AS THERE IS SO MUCH TO PHOTOGRAPH. THE KILLER LOCATION PROVIDES ACCESS TO SO MUCH YOU WASTE MONEY WITH A CAR RENTAL. PARKING IS A HASSLE AND THOSE WHO DO RENT CARS FIND THEMSELVES LEAVING THE CAR BEHIND AND WALKING.

Location is excellent, close to all the action at the French Quarter and surrounded by nice restaurants. A CVs pharmacy is ... accross the street; Several souvenir stores are less than two blocks from the hotel. You can get to the Convention Center in less than 5 min by cab, or in 15 min walking. Rooms are clean and service is very good.

The hotel was perfectly located and walking distance to everything.. The staff was sooo incredibly accomodating! The ... concierge was fabulous and his reccommendations were even better.. We checked in late and we received an upgrade at no charge,..Book the executive level if possible..For a few xtra $$, you receive complimentary breakfast daily and also evening cocktails with hors d euvres, served on that floor in what must have been the space for an xtra large suite, now furbished w/ comfy couches, tables, computer for your use and 2 large flat screens, books as well for reading..

Weekend in New Orleans
Traveling Teacher Aug 25, 2009
The Crowne Palace Astor is perfectly situated on the corner of Canal & Bourbon, where you can walk right out onto the action ... of Bourbon, yet it is far enough up on Bourbon that you can still sleep at night. Within walking distance to all major attractions including French Market, Decatur Street, Frenchmen Street, Harrahs Casino and Canal Street shops. Hotel staff was wonderful! Professional, polite and pleasant. Visit Perry at the Bourbon House for the oysters.

Astor Crowne Plaza New Orleans is in the perfect location! steps away from the action....but a very restful hotel. ... Beautiful rooms and wonderful service. The only complaint is that you have to pay almost 30.00 per day for parking....We never used our car once, but still was charged 27.00 per day to park it.

Great time! Excellent location. Walking distance to everything! Only drawback was the long wait for the valet parking. We ... waited to check into valet parking about 20 mins and there was only 2 cars in front of us! Then there were no other options to self park. Valet was the only option and it was expensive for the quality of service upon arrival

Great location, but you'll pay more...
MaJy Jul 12, 2009
You can't get much better than this in terms of location, but be prepared to pay for ALL the extras. It cost $32 bucks to ... park your car at an uncovered lot 8 blocks away which you will be shuttled to at the end of your stay. The bell service is understaffed and not very helpful as well, so you'll most likely be toting all of your luggage yourself onto the shuttle. Also the WiFi costs $6 if you plan on using it. Now that you know that drawbacks to expect up front, let it be known that the rooms and lobby are beautiful and the location is supreme with a side entrance opening right up to Bourbon St, the heArt of the night life in new Orleans. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel immensely despite all of the additional costs and hassles.

Awesome hotel! Beautiful, large rooms
Pure Romance by Desiree' Jul 12, 2009
We had a great time in New Orleans. We are local and try to stay in the Quarter occasionally and check out different hotels. ... The Astor was wonderful. Check in was friendly and efficient. The Bourbon House Restaurant was top notch, one of the best I've ever been to. The room was huge and gorgeous. 2 queen beds and lots of space to move around. The beds were so comfortable, we slept like babies. Maybe because it's July, the price was only $100 (then a $25 rebate through Orbitz). We will definitely stay again.
