Staff were awesome! [...] at the front desk were extremely helpful. I arrived at the hotel around 11:30 am and my room was ... ready so I was able to check in. Bed was comfy but sheet kept sliding off one corner. Good internet connection. I would recommend this hotel to others but it just depends on what you are looking for. I would just choose something slightly closer to the french quarter.

Take the Magazine Street bus on the corner of Magazine and Canal to the 30 / 31 number block - great small stores, especially Buffalo Exchange for vintage. The fare is $1.25 and the buses run about every 15 minutes.

We can't say enough good things about this hotel. Once everyone knows it will be hard for us to get into next time. It looks ... old but opened only a few years ago and is very clean and modern with a super friendly and helpful staff. It is two blocks from Canal St. and a very easy walk to the famous French Quarter and popular river front tourist attractions. The patio area is very relaxing and cool and the bar tender will serve you drinks while you relax. The morning free breakfast is just okay but will save you money to spend on New Orleans excellent food later in the day.

Just about swing a cat
Scouser Aug 16, 2009
The location of this hotel is excellent, but the rooms are exceptionally small and the housekeeping rather indifferent (more ... of a lick and a promise than a cleaning). Being a budget hotel, the scramble for the included breakfast and free bar snacks was indecorous at times (I say skip it and go to Mother's for breakfast which is just around the corner). As hotels in New Orleans are smoke-free, smokers must use the patio adjacent to the small but clean swimming pool. This is a pleasant space, but be aware, there is at least one rat in residence who comes out at night. Staff were in general pleasant, and the hotel allowed us to check in early which I appreciated.

Don't count on it
tired of travel Aug 11, 2009
Well, I don't know what to say. After a great trip last month to the same hotel and great personal service, I was REALLY ... disappointed this time around. I had booked a smoking room, and was told when I arrived that none were available. I was also told that , for the inconvenience, I would be upgraded and changed to the smoking room as soon as one was cleaned and available. Well neither happened until the third day of my trip. The first night, there was no house-keeping, and the second day was pretty much the same. They gave me three towels and said they would return, but it didn't happen. I was over-all really disappointed with the hotel staff and service. I will not be staying there again, I just don't want to take the chance on pre-paying and haivng no other option. The shuttle service was another disappointment. I arrived after midnight, because of a delay in the flight and there was no-one to attend me. The driver took both of my coupons and did get me to the hotel. He told me that I did not need to make the return reservation, because the information was on the ticket. Well I called anyway, and was told that they could only pick me up at 3:30 AM! for a 6:30 flight. I canceled the trip, and decided to take a taxi at a more appropriate hour. At 2 AM I was wakened by the hotel staff and told that the shuttle was down below!!!!! I think I am going to forgt about booking shuttle service and this hotel again in the future. Hope this helps someone else

Good Location but simple
Jersey Girl Jul 27, 2009
The hotel is very no frills and simple. If you just want a place to sleep and relax after a long day of sight seeing, then ... this place will do. The location is great. It's right in the middle between busy French Quarter and the Art District. The pool was very small as well as the fitness center. The hotel does offer free continental breakfast daily which is a great benefit and saves you a bit of money. The free wifi is a bonus as well. The shower curtain definitely needed to be changed. I was also not a fan of the brick wall as I was scared bugs would be crawling out of the crevices.

Stef Jul 15, 2009
Great location, great price, great breakfast! It is relatively clean and a good deal for the price. Two blocks from Canal and ... Decatur. Concierge very nice and helpful. Not so great if you need a quiet place to sleep. Atrium-style lobby is lovely, but sound travels to rooms and it can be very noisy at times. Also, booked a two queen bed room, got a king plus sofabed. Not an impossible situation, but front desk staff a bit rude about it when I inquired.

Great hotel and good location
NOLA tourist Jul 5, 2009
I had a hard time finding a hotel room because of a music festival in New Orleans and finally snagged this one on Orbitz. ... While not the cheapest hotel I've ever stayed at, the alternatives sounded so horrible I don't regret shelling out the extra dollars. Check in had a girl texting who made us wait a minute til she finished, but sadly this is becoming quite common everywhere. That was the only low spot though. Quick service, they brought us extra bedding when we asked for it, gave us good directions, got us cabs and stored our luggage all day. The room was small, but clean and airy, right on the courtyard which had a pool we never used. The continental breakfast was the best I have ever seen in a hotel. You can make your own waffles! They had cappucinos, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, bagels, pastries, eggs and sausage. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Not quite in the French Quarter but definitely an easy walk to it.

Best Price for the Location
Dara D. Jun 16, 2009
As a New Orleans native, this hotel is in the best possible location for walking to the French Quarter and River Walk. Since ... the hotel is located on Magazine Street, you can hop on the bus that passes in front of the hotel and it'll take you Uptown. The rooms were clean and big enough. Internet is free. There's a small pool outside that's fun to splash around in. My only complaint is that parking is valet only for $25 a day. I suppose parking is expensive everywhere in this area, but if you're staying at the place for 3 days, you could've stayed a 4th night with the money you're spending on parking. If you're traveling without a car, this is the perfect place for you.
