Enjoy the good times at this historic French Quarter hotel
The Bourbon Orleans was one of the city's grandest ballrooms in the 1800s and spent time as a convent and orphanage. Today, this French Quarter hotel offers visitors a glimpse into the past while offering contemporary comforts in 211 rooms (no two are alike). The peach and cream lobby with its Oriental rugs and Chippendale furnishings harkens to a more genteel time. Storied ghostly inhabitants include a confederate soldier, children from the Holy Sisters orphanage and a lone dancer twirling under the ballroom's glittering chandeliers.
Highlights
- Rich New Orleans history
- Courtyard pool and patio
- Ballroom
- Smoke-free
Rooms
None of the 211 rooms and suites are alike, but all offer ergonomically designed Hermann Miller desk chairs, marble baths, fine fabrics and Queen Anne-style furnishings. Irons and ironing boards, coffee makers and free local calls cover the details of a comfortable stay. Fees apply for high-speed Internet access. Twenty-eight suites provide a variety of options including some on two levels and others with balconies overlooking Bourbon Street. The entire hotel is smoke-free.
Features
The on-site Roux on Orleans offers Creole cuisine for breakfast and dinner and also supplies room service. Watch the street scene and enjoy an adult beverage at the open daily Bourbon Oh, accessible from the lobby. Napoleon's Itch is next door to Bourbon Oh! The swanky, New York style club, is a late-night hangout. Need a break from the fun? Try the courtyard pool. Brides can choose the intimate St. Ann Cottage or the opulent Bourbon Orleans ballroom for their wedding. There is valet parking (fees apply).

Big Bang For The Buck
My wife and I have stayed at a number of hotels in and around New Orleans and I can honestly say that the Bourbon Orleans is one of the very best. The location is fantastic...on Bourbon but away from the noise. The staff is polite, professional and quick to meet whatever needs you might have. The restaurant more than adequately meets our needs in terms of staff, food & ambience. My only concern is navigating to some of the rooms. If you've stayed there, you know that it's quite a trek to reach some of the rooms. That aside, I highly recommend the Bourbon Orleans to anyone who visits New Orleans. I know it's the first hotel I look at when making plans to visit. Keep up the good work.

Great Location; Great Staff
Just far enough off of Bourbon Street and yet just a 1/2 block walk. Nestled between Bourbon Street, party central, and Royal Street, antique alley. And, Jackson Square and St Louis Cathedral at the end of the street, both great places to visit with good museums (two) of New Orleans on each side. The staff could not have been better. The room was very clean, but new carpeting should not be far away. I ate dinner at the restaurant one evening, with the french doors open to Orleans Street and with a visit to my table by the chief. Both the food and ambiance were exceptional. I plan on making this my place to stay when in New Orleans. And, I plan on visiting New Orleans as often as possible.

Friendly staff
This hotel was an awesome choice for a weekend stay in the French Quarter. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This location was the best that I had ever stayed in out of the many visits that I have made to New Orleans in the past. Both issues were associated with valet and hotel parking. After paying an unexpected $30 a night for hotel parking, I was not so excited. Add insult to injury, Sunday morning retrieval of the cars event was less then unpleasant. It seemed to be an unwishful event for everyone. Obviously everyone was planning to checkout Sunday morning as tho should have been expected by the Valet guys. They first told me that my car would arrive in ten minutes. After 45 minutes or so of several groups waiting, I go to the main valet guy and asked what was taking so much time. He then stated that he could not find my keys and no records of my car. Finally, about an hour and 15 minutes they pulled my car around. Overall, the stay at the hotel was awesome. But expect an un organized group of valet guys which will lead to long wait times for you to get your vehicle.

Extremely nice hotel
The Bourbon Orleans was a very nice hotel, which had a desk area. Their was coffee and tea available in the room. They had an adequate closet and 2 small dressers for your clothes. The location was just a block from Bourbon Street, anothe block from Jackson Square. It was in the middle of everything on Bourbon Street so you can go in either directions to get to a nice restaurant. I would stay there again on my next visit. I've been to New Orleans four times and I would stay at this hotel the next time I come back.

Charming hotel with a great location!
Fantastic location! We were able to walk to everything in the French Quarter, and stumble back after a trip to Bourbon St. Room was very nice, although a bit small, and noise from the hallway could be a bit disturbing, but definitely a great experience. Will stay there again!

Reservation never received...
Hotel was wonderful. However, the reservation I booked with Orbitz never got to them. The clerk held on the phone for 15 minutes trying to get the billing information but the attendent on the line was VERY slow and would not speak up when asked several times. I was put on the phone to confirm my information and could not hear a thing. At one point the hotel clerk suggested I just cancel the reservation from Orbitz because of the trouble and he'd give me a better rate, when I tried the Orbitz attendent stated I'd still owe 100% of the reservation, THE ONE THAT NEVER GOT THERE!! The Orbitz attendent kept putting us BOTH on hold for 5 minutes at a time! The hotel clerk was by himself and was trying his best to get the information to bill Orbitz, meanwhile, there are 6 people in line behind me EXTREMELY upset because MY ORBITZ RESERVATION never got to the hotel!!

Excellent Stay
Spectacular location directly behind St Louis Cathedral. Hotel also has a corner on Boubon St. Lovely wind bar with outdoor seating directly across the street. Huge rooms, good beds, marble bath and very kind and helpful staff. Valet parking is great. I've stayed at many hotels in the quarter. Best location and amenities yet.
