The Bourbon Orleans Hotel has many stories to tell, sitting on the site of both the grand old Orleans Theater and Ballroom, and a former convent. Restored in the 1960s in the Creole style of the French Quarter, the Bourbon's rooms are all unique. From the gilded hangings of the ballroom and meeting halls to the Provencal furnishings of the Governor's Suite, the grandeur of Old Louisiana is everywhere guests look. A complimentary welcome beverage at the Bourbon O is your initial dose of New Orleans hospitality, while resident Creole restaurant, Roux, serves up jumbo shrimp and fried green tomatoes. The saltwater pool forms a calm oasis in the courtyard, a quiet counterpoint to the Bourbon Street bustle outside the front door.
Location
Right on Bourbon Street, the Bourbon Orleans boasts quick access to the attractions of the French Quarter, as well as some of the finest music found in the "Birthplace of Jazz". Head down Orleans Street for the pedestrian-only section of Royal Street and its lively outdoor performers, or take a detour down Pirate Alley, which runs along the west side of St. Louis Cathedral and ends at Jackson Square, a U.S. National Historic Landmark. You're also never far from the banks of the Mississippi and its vintage steamboat tours.

Policies
Balcony suites overlook Bourbon Street, St. Ann or Orleans Street, and the grand St. Louis Cathedral, so book here for a unique vantage point.

Those with a taste for the supernatural should keep their eyes peeled for the Bourbon's three 'resident' ghosts, including a confederate soldier patrolling the sixth and third floors and a spectral figure waltzing beneath the ballroom chandeliers.

Great weekend getaway

Had a great stay here. My husband and I took a little weekend getaway to New Orleans. It is a great walking distance from everything! The only complaint I have is that if you end up with a room number above 30 expect to walk a good distance to your room. Our room number was 654.

Jazzfest Vacation week

First time staying here and don't know why I didn't stay before! Gorgeous hotel with exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. They offered info daily and are very knowledgable about their city. The staff offer much more than just being there, they will do whatever it takes to make the stay enjoyable and memorable. The Bourbon 'O' bar is chic and fun, amazing drinks and great bartenders, different every night but consistently well done service. Great pool area and very relaxing. Room was overlooking pool and was very comfortable. Even though this hotel backs up Bourbon St, no noise there at all from the crowds, best part! Great location for French Quarter fun as well as Jackson Sq and Riverwalk. Short walk to Canal St. Pillows were my one picked on item, a little too firm for my taste. Room was cleaned daily with prompt service but could have had a little more attention to the shower and bathroom floor and wall. Overall an excellent experience and will be a returning customer for future visits to NOLA!

Pre Christmas Break

All in all a lovely hotel with good amenities and a great location. The weather was not great while we were there, and the hotel lobby was always freezing with the A/C on. Not very inviting and discouraged us from eating in the restaurant.

French Quarter fling

We made the mistake of upgrqading to a loft suite. While the room was nice, it faced on St. Anne Street one half block from Bourbon Street and the disco noise was nonstop. We moved to a room facing the pool court and it was much quiter. The hotel does not have its own bar, resturant or gift shop. You have to leave to eat, drink or buy toothpaste.

Fun Bourbon Street Weekend!

This was a great place to stay! The staff was super friendly, especially Caleb, yes we remembered your name!! Thanks for the great experience. We will definitely stay here again. It's just one block from all the fun at Royal & Bourbon Streets and close to the park! Valet parking was the key...even though it was $34 a day. Well worth it to not have to worry about finding a spot!!

Wonderful hotel in a wonderful city!

The hotel was excellent! It is in the perfect location, our room overlooked Bourbon Street, but it was surprisingly quiet, even with all of the activity at night. The pool was great, the bar was reasonable, and I loved the coffee in the lobby in the morning, and the infused water and iced tea in the afternoon. Plus, the inexpensive Bloody Mary in the morning was delicious! We had a great experience and will be staying here, again, when we go back to the French Quarter. (And spend the money on the valet parking. It was well worth it.)

Try Muriel's and the Acme Oyster House. Both were excellent and reasonable.
