Overview

The Bourbon Orleans Hotel has many stories to tell, sitting on the site of both the grand old Orleans Theater and Ballroom and a former convent. Restored in the 1960s in the Creole style of the French Quarter, the Bourbon s rooms are all unique and from the gilded hangings of the ballroom and meeting halls to the Provencal furnishings of the Governor s Suite, the grandeur of Old Louisiana is everywhere to see. A complimentary welcome beverage at the Bourbon O will induct you into New Orleans hospitality, while you can brush up on your knowledge of Jumbo Shrimp and Fried Green Tomatoes at Creole restaurant, Roux. Afterwards, the saltwater pool forms a calm oasis in the courtyard, quite apart from the Bourbon St melee outside the front door.

Hints and tips

Balcony suites overlook Bourbon Street, St. Ann or Orleans Street and the grand St. Louis Cathedral, so book here for a unique vantage point. However, look within the hotel for some of its most intriguing sights the Bourbon has three resident ghosts to watch out for, including a confederate soldier patrolling the sixth and third floors and a spectral figure waltzing beneath the ballroom chandeliers.

Neighborhood

Right on Bourbon Street, the Bourbon Orleans boasts quick access to the attractions of the French Quarter, as well as some of the finest music found in the "Birthplace of Jazz." Head down Orleans Street for the pedestrian-only section of Royal Street and its lively street performers or take a detour down Pirate Alley, which runs along the west side of St. Louis Cathedral and ends at the edge of Jackson Square, a U.S. National Historic Landmark. You re never far from the banks of the Mississippi and its vintage steamboat tours here, either.

nice hotel

Would recommend Fri, Dec 11, 2015
We stayed at the Bourbon Orleans for three nights and it was a wonderful place to stay right in the heart of the French Quarter. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful and it was awesome to be able to swim at night in November. The cathedral is just a half a block away and is breathtaking at night while it is surrounded by some amazing artists and musicians during the day. We had an amazing time at this beautiful and historic hotel. Alas, we saw no ghosts :) but we did see NCIS New Orleans filming.

Another super stay

Would recommend Thu, Dec 3, 2015
From check in to hotel dining it could not be any better. The staff was friendly and helpful.Mr. Charlie and Miss Nicole restaurant managers were the friendliness and most helpful in pointing out the least travel attractions as well as the must sees. Hotel located right in the heart of the action (Bourbon and Orleans). No need for a car all attractions are in walking distance. FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE.

Right in the heart of the French Quarter

Would recommend Thu, Nov 19, 2015
Great location! Park your car and leave it for the whole stay, you can walk everywhere. There is a great outdoor pool. The rooms a little dated, but that didn't matter, location is everything in the French Quarter.

Great weekend getaway

Would recommend Tue, Aug 11, 2015
Had a great stay here. My husband and I took a little weekend getaway to New Orleans. It is a great walking distance from everything! The only complaint I have is that if you end up with a room number above 30 expect to walk a good distance to your room. Our room number was 654.
