Excellent Value
The Avenue Garden Hotel is a small, older hotel in a convenient location with courteous staff. My room was spacious and comfortable. There is dining nearby and it's located on the streetcar line.

Great,highly recomended
I was very impressed with the staff. Very nice and courteous. If any,my only complaint was no parking for hotel guests. We had to park around the block. The hotel was so close to Burbon Street, that it cost less than 10.00 for 3 people. I hope to stay there again when I return!!!

Catch a cab if going to Burbon Street,it cheap and better than trying to find a parking space in the area.

The atmosphere was amazing
The room was beautiful and charming. The details of the room were romantic. The bathroom could use updating, but it was extremely clean. If you like the atmosphere of a old fashioned bed and breakfast, then this is the hotel for you. It was in safe walking distance of Bourbon street.

Great for the Price
The Avenue Garden Hotel was perfect for what we needed. It says that it's on the trolley line but in May of 2007 the trolley lines still had yet to be repaired and the nearest stop is three blocks in the direction of the French quarter. The room was comfortable, but there are no amenities. There is coffe in the morning and the free internet is a desktop computer in the lobby for your use. The staff was great. They were very helpful with directions and getting around the city (we took a cad everywhere). The location was good. There are a few resautrants within one block, I'd recommend VooDoo BBQ, Slice Pizzaria, and the St Charles Tavern.

Family Run
This was a very small hotel located at the tip of the lower garden district. I was pleased with the room, but it could use a little updating.....besides that the staff was friendly and my check-in was very fast..... ;-)

A home within an inn. Value for money
[...] the GM was very sweet and kind and she made me feel very comfortable. It is not a cororate hotel and I felt very welcome and homely. I would definetely come back and stay here again. It is a little away from the French Quarter but the cute trolley stop is just in front of the door. It is nice to stay in this old mansion. The lovely free cakes provided are very delicious and wonderful
