Disappointing Romantic Getaway

While the hotel location is excellent, right in the French Quarter, the rate is well above what I would ever pay for this level of comfort.

Stay Away

The location is good but that's about it. Rude front desk person, worn-out beds and carpet, bathroom door wouldn't stay closed, no parking. We were told the free parking was full since they share it with another hotel so they gave us a map of parking lots over a half mile away that charged $60/day! I'm just glad it wasn't raining or 95 degrees out. We were very disappointed and would never stay there again.

Nice plac eto stay

Excellent location for visiting the French Quarter. However, it can be noisy all night long due to its location. Our room was great. High ceilings, old style furnishings, a neat place. I wish they could have been a little more flexible with the checkout time.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Burbon St is two blocks over and the hotel is in the French Quarter. It was a weekend in New Orleans so the party never stopped. Even when we wanted to sleep.

Great location

We arrived in the French Quarter and was quite happy at the looks of our hotel. It was not one of those big generac ones that could be in any city. This was old New Orleans. The lobby isn't much but we were given a 2nd floor room opening up to the front upper verandah. How lovely it was to sit up there, sipping wine, and watching the world go by below. When we wanted to go anywhere it was an easy walk to all. The disadvantage to an old hotel was that we had no way to change any of the settings on the AC but the hotel was most accomodating. Across the street was a wonderful restaurant, Cafe Amelie, where we could eat in a beautiful open courtyard full of flowers and fountains. We would definitely return.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

1. Just a few blocks to the visitors center to sign up for guided tours. 2. Good coffee shop a few doors down. 3. Great restaurant across street.
