Sheraton Metairie-New Orleans Hotel

For the price, it doesn't get any better. From the hotel, it only took about 10 minutes to get to the River Walk downtown. The room was very spacious and the staff was curtious. It was also nice to be able to park in a secure parking garage. My wife and I's overall experience was very pleasent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Nice hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff. What is missing: shutle to down town and back. Hotel location is several miles from down town. If you use your own car parking prices in down town are way to expensive: $ 25 for 4 hours, this is actualy money extortion operation not business. It appears to me they want to compensate for Katrina damages as soon as possible. Another issue is breakfast: It should be included in room price. And yes small details as botlled water, you will get water only first day. Other than this I would recommend this hotel.

Wanted to go to New Orleans for one night but didn't want the cost of the French Quarter location. This hotel used to be the Wyndam and we had stayed there before. It's close enough that we didn't mind the drive to the French Quarter. We stayed in one of the newly redone rooms...it was great and comfortable. Would stay there again. Got a great rate from Orbitz at the last minute. Actually called the hotel before making the reservation online and was told no availabilty...they were sold out!

it was great. only problem was, they was having a party which left the parking garage full, and while i found a spot, my other party did not. And i ended up getting my car hit by someone in garage. The pool and exercise room was out of order the whole stay. Extra friendly staff and excellant service though

The hotel was O.K. until I got to my roomLocation was fine, desk staff was good, check-in went smoothly. My room was the pits!! Draperies were holy, table tops were beaten & scarred..not all lamps worked, carpet was filthy, etc. Housekeeping 'cleaned' cleaned my room the next day...they didn't do anything except pull the covers up on the bed and change the towels...no dirty cups or glasses were moved, no vacuuming was done, sinks,tub, toilets were untouched! I called the front desk and asked housekeeping to come see my already 'cleaned ' room. Half an hour later a cleaning person came followed shortly by the head of housekeeping. The room was then thoroughly cleaned and deodorized and I received an apology and the 'gift' of breakfast for two. The next day thee was no housekeeping, just a change of towels and the bed straightened. Sunday I left. I have seen nicer rooms at a Motel 6. The head housekeeper, [...] , did tell me the hotel was going to be renovated in two weeks....lot of good that did me!

I really enjoyed my 3 night stay at the Sheraton-Metarie. The hotel was easy to find. I checked in very quickly and was able to check out very quickly which was wonderful. The bed was super comfortable. 1 complaint, there was not a full length mirror in the room. Lighting in the bathroom was not great. I didn't encounter much staff, but they were friendly. I did not use the fitness facility nor the resturant. I stayed in Metarie, not New Oreleans due to wanting free parking. We were close to the Lakeside mall. Would stay here again.

The hotel stay was great. We were even able to check into our hotel 2 hours earlier than the "check-in" time which was great! The hotel location was conveniently located as it was only 10 minutes to reach anywhere in New Orleans-French Quarter, Garden District, River-walk..etc The perk of staying outside the downtown area is the prices were significantly less, that is what drew us to this hotel. The staff was very friendly & helpful. Room service even called to verify the charges before they added the food to our stay. The only drawback to this hotel was that there is not a FREE continental breakfast included with our stay. I'm not sure if maybe hotels don't do this anymore, but I was surprised & a bit disappointed. There are a lot of coffee shops in the area and very close by though. They also have FREE Starbuck's plain coffee in the lobby.
