I wish hotels would just ban smoking like the airlines did.

Overall good hotel experience, but upon arriving a little past midnight, the hotel was fresh out of non-smoking rooms and we had to spend our first night in a smoking room, which was mighty disgusting, but since I had prepaid the room, we were stuck. Thanks to Bridgette, the reception lady who was able to find us the only non-smoking room in the hotel for our second night, which made a world of difference for our easy-breathing. Maybe it's a "southern thing," but I always find hotels in the South to have fewer non-smoking rooms, and this was no exception. I never dreamt that the hotel I booked "in walking distance to Whole Foods" would have a smoking issue. Other than that, it was a fine, functional stay. It would have been nice to be in New Orleans proper, but being prime time for tourists, finding anything decent in town was too expensive, so we were in Metarie, which is a bland, innocuous suburb of NoLa, but we were just in the hotel to sleep, and we spent all our time and money in New Orleans and paid no mind to the chain stores or restaurants around the hotel, instead, we were surprised that a place as sterile as Metarie would exist next to the amazing vibrancy and small business-laden New Orleans.

More attention to detail

The hotel was fairly clean and nice it just could use a little more attention to detail to be above average. There was no remote control in my room for the television. The coffee maker had grounds left in it from the person who previously stayed in the room which was disgusting and made me not want to make coffee. there was a roach in the room also.

A place to sleep

My family and I wanted to enjoy a day ina nearby city so we booked this hotel, partly because it was right by the interstate, partly because it was one of the only rooms left in the area. The rooms themselves were ok enough to sleep, but the hotel was old and smelled old and damp. I was not sure if my children should sleep in the beds. i really checked for bed bugs. I had also requested a crib which was not there when we arrived and did not arrive untl at least 1+ hours with a sheet that would not be appropriate for a baby (it was loose and a smothering hazard.) All in all I was not impressed and probably will not stay here again.

Horrible place to stay

Construction in area made it impossible to find and get to hotel. Tv didn't work in room, room stuffy and musky. Only 1 of 2 elevators worked. Would never stay here again. Upset that this site would even put this hotel on list. Will never book this hotel again.

A little long in the tooth...

Front desk clerk very helpful in finding hotel...due to road construction, GPS had us lost. Tailgate cook-out going on in parking garage by pool entrance - pretty noisy. Air conditioner unit in room nosy...bathroom floor tiles pretty dingy. Breakfast was very good.

BEST WESTERN PLUS Landmark Hotel (Metairie, LA)

I feel I definitely got my moneys worth at this hotel. I would have preferred to have been a little closer to the downtown core and not have to pay the $25 cab fair no matter where you went. The last two days there we rented a car and this worked out much better for us. Having free parking at the hotel was definitely a bonus. I would have liked if the pool opened earlier. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't want to stay downtown.

New Orleans

We booked this hotel as this was our first trip to Louisiana and wasn't sure what exactly to expect. The room we stayed in was very nice and must have been newly remodeled. Another group of friends that we went with said they requested a non smoking room - but it must have been one at one time as it smelled like smoke. We mainly wanted to go to French Quarter/downtown N.O. So if you are planning to go downtown its about a 10 minute drive... I suggest taking a cab. The only other bad thing is if you plan to do any type of N.O. tour - they will not pick you up there so you have to go downtown to be picked up for the tour.

Great hotel!

It was pretty much a perfect stay. The hotel is very nice and very clean. The area is great with many dining options and shopping areas. The only bad part was that breakfast cost $7.50 a person. Needless to say, we didn't eat there! Cafe Du Monde is just down the road! Overall, great stay!

Our stay was fantastice!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for St. Patricks Day weekend and the hotel was GREAT for the value. There was free covered parking! The bed was extremely comfortable and huge. There were so many amenities in the room including a microwave and large refrigerator. The front desk staff was very fast and extremely friendly (even when both my boyfriend and I misplaced our rooms key cards and they replaced them with no problem .) I COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR MORE!

I-10

Good staff - clean and comfortable room. With the construction in the area - getting to I-10 and the airport proved to be a bit difficult.
