Great casino...terrible hotel
I could hear the person in the next room sneeze, when they used the bathroom and when the doors opened and closed, and after paying $199 Fri + $235 Sat, I was not happy. They were doing hotel repairs at the weekend I was there so we were woken up at 7am by what sounded like a jackhammer directly above. We checked out and moved to the Marriott that's 10mins away. Better value and FREE WiFi.

Some disappointment
We have been staying at this location for years. After requesting and calling to verify that we had a smoking room, although your reservations were correct, the hotel staff still had us listed as non-smoking. the wonderful spa that we used was temporarily closed due to a sprinkler leak,hence backing up all reservations,,,not really their fault, but a disappointment. Lastly, since we went through your service to book our stay....they called security on my husband at check out, stating we had not paid for our room, hence trying to hold our deposit of $100.00. probably the most degrading of all!! Jessica, one of the outdoor pool area manager was FABULOUS!!!! obtained a comp breafeast for us due to loss of spa reservations.....need more staff like her!!!

a few things missing
There was no hair dryer in the room and that was a big problem. Also, the casino needs to have a no-smoking section. On a positive note, the grounds were beautiful!

Good couple getaway
This was a good mini vacation for singles or couples traveling without kids. Not really kid friendly.

Just Two Cards
Our overall experience....
This is the highest rated hotel in Lake Charles, so we decided to stay there. There were many situations that were unacceptable. To mention a few.... we walked through two rooms before we could accept the third. We asked for non smoking and ALL three NON smoking rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. In the room we settled on, when we turned up the AC to an acceptable temp, the bathroom would start to bring in cigarette smoke. So room was totally unacceptable. However, the Ember Grill & Wine Bar was EXCELLENT! I would highly recommend that restaurant for their high level of food and service! BUT our reservation there was cancelled by their staff for some unknown reason AND it was made for the wrong time. We were squeezed in at a time about an hour later than we originally requested, but the EXCELLENT level of food and service made up for the reservation cancellation, We had a couple's massage and would highly recommend that service! The adult pool and bar area were great! The lazy river was really enjoyable! The food at Jack Daniels Grill was excellent too! Even with the room situation and the mix up at Embers, we would definitely return!

In Hotel
If you prefer a NON smoking room, request only a room between Floors 1 and 5. They said that their AC system on Floor 7 which is their smoking floor, was the culprit to cigarette smoke spreading throughout some of the other floors. We stayed on Floor 6 and still had a smoke odor.
