Vacation getaway

The hotel was clean and comfortable. We were on the go most of the time so we really just showered and slept in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You advised free complimentary breakfast but that is not true, I was disappointed that I had to pay or go out to get breakfast!!!!

Excellent Stay

Hotel staff very accomodating and friendly. The room was great - no problems. We have been to the New Orleans area many times and this was the best hotel so far. Booked reservations on-line with no problems whatsoever. Rates very reasonable. Will be sure to stay at Hotel Kenner when we come back to New Orleans.

Diamond in the rough

This hotel is in transition - it has the opportunity to become something spectacular...or become an absolute dump. We had a great view of the lake and fireworks from the casino Our room had numerous "holes" in the carpet - as if they cut out the stains. The bed spread had holes and the bed skirt had stains. The duvet was lumpy as it hadn't been dried properly. The towels were old and one set had some old stains... But the room and bathroom were well cleaned overall. We booked this place because of the shuttle and "free" breakfast. Turns out there was a $6 charge for an average buffet - eggs, bacon, sausage, danishes. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food. Not sure if I would stay her again because of the price, but it was New Year's Eve... The staff said it had jst been bought and it might be sold again...

Needs work

The entire first floor was blocked off and all the access doors around the building too. I was trying to find a side door and peeked in and saw that the first floor was filled with mold and looked like it was old damage. Then I found two cockroaches in my room when I went in. :-(

ON OUR WEDDING NIGHT!

I'm rating this hotel as "not good" because of how dirty it was. If you looked closely, you could tell that the hallways needed help. Our room wasn't nearly as clean as it should have been. The bathroom was dirty and looked like a towel rack was falling off. We were given a night's stay here as a wedding present for our wedding night. I was down stairs getting some drinks from the area next to the front desk (there were no vending machines), when I overheard a couple come back and tell the lady at the front desk that someone was already in the room that they'd been given keys to. When the lady at the desk asked the room number they said it was room ***... WHICH WAS OUR ROOM! My new bride was readying herself for our evening and was walked in on by another couple. She was wrapped in a blanket in tears in the bathroom when I came back up. No one ever appoplogized to my bride.

Ok, place to stay in New Orleans

The hotel looked great from the outside and the room was very clean, however once you start looking at things closer, that is when you find things you weren't expecting. The bed was as hard as a rock, 1 out of 2 lights in the bathroom were burnt out, the towel rack in the shower was loose and looked like one of the racks would fall off any minute, housekeeping was horrible. All they did was basically make the bed and give you towels, until you check out. To top that, the customer service seemed friendly, but asking them a question, there reply was either "oh, i don't know/I can't help you" or very short two word responses. It was an ok place to stay, but I don't think I will be coming back anytime soon.

I was embarrassed to have people stay here.

We booked this hotel online for a week- it was close to a wedding in the area. The morning/afternoon front desk staff wasn’t very friendly. The room we checked into hadn’t been cleaned: The carpet was dusty, the mattress and duvet were stained, there was prominent black mold in the bathroom, a thick ring of soap scum in the bathtub, broken floor tiles, raw electrical wires lying on the carpet from under the air conditioner, no working ventilation. We went to inquire about getting put into another room, but it was so late and the line was so long that after driving for 16 hours and waiting in an un-moving line for 30 minutes that we decided to crashed elsewhere the first night. We had a party of people staying here and they joined us later in the week; all their bathrooms had a mold problem and no ventilation, as well. We only had hot water one day of our week’s stay. We continued to inquire about the water, and continued to hear that it would be fixed “soon”. A lot of people started checking out as soon as they found out there was no hot water. We talked to two families and they said that they weren’t even made aware of the situation upon check-in. No one in our party ever had their room vacuumed, sheets changed, or were given a full set of towels, though they requested it each day. The second to last day of the stay, one of our party members found a long red hair in their breakfast food. When someone came to take the plate away, she grumbled under her breath that "stupid people need to eat their food". We explained nicely that we'd found a long red hair in it. She said, "Well I have red hair... it's PROBABLY MINE!" and walked away. We were shocked by her behavior towards us. We were never asked if we could be given a new plate of food or had an apology. Though we inquired daily, we were never given any sort of discount for not having hot water the entire week.
