Sun Suites of New Orleans

I understood that it was a one star hotel when I booked but this hotel should be called a motel and should not be charging 90 bucks a night. when my husband and I arrived there were men standing around the parking lot drinking beer we were afraid to get out of the car with our bags so we left everything in the car good thing we did because when we got in the room the bed was leaning, it smelled liked mildew and smoke, the remote to the t.v. had no batteries. I went back to check in and demanded a new room

When I arrived at the Sun Suites hotel at about midnight, they could not find my reservation. They claimed that the hotel is full and there is no way they can accommodate me. And there was a bunch of other people in the exactly same situation as me. So, I stayed in a chair deciding what to do about it. From time to time, groups of individuals showed up, and complained about bedbugs, holes in the ceiling, etc. Surprisingly, everything was very peaceful with no brawls, shootings and police. The security guard who let us in said that she will leave at 5 am, and the receptionist will come at 7 am, which meant that I would have to be on a street in a bad neighborhood from 5 to 7 am. Fortunately, that place had a free wireless (rather slow but functional) internet connection, so I started to search for my options. The hotels in a walkable distance (about 2-3 km) have worst possible reviews, and I decided that it would not be prudent of me to head there at 2-3 am in Harley. The receptionist had even denied me using a bathroom, but finally agreed to give me such favor. Next, I wanted to take taxi to the same Marriott hotel where our Exam meeting was scheduled, but the hotel was full. The best one in a walkable distance from our Exam meeting was another Marriott chain Hotel (The Saint) with an available option $250 per night room, so I made an online reservation for one night from Saturday to Sunday, and took a cab there. I arrived at The Saint at about 5 am and idiotically asked them when is there check-in time, which naturally turned out to be 2 pm. I said the I am OK with that, but told them my story and pointed out that it would be great to check in now. Surprisingly, the receptionist had some compassion and have checked me in at 5 am instead of 2 pm (a nice early check-in). Finally, I had 2 hours to sleep before the Exam meeting at 8 am. Never visit this dump and God forbid bring there your families.

This hotel is not for a family at all. Walk in the room and i said its not that bad well i was wrong one star means one star. There was holes in the comforter and sheets d microwave didnt work the toilet back came off the refrigerator look lik it havnt been defrost in years. Beer tops behind the drawer the walls are so thin you hear the neighbor conversation and smell the smoke when its suppose to be non smoking.

Convienant from work location & on budget but really needs major upgrading. Wood & Water rot in Bathroom Cabinets & Kitchen. Asked for "Do Not Disturb" sign twice & never got it.

It was very neat and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Its always great to stay here. It is very convenient.

The rooms were almost falling apart. the ceiling was leaking water and the toilet didnt flush. House keeping didnt come clean the room not one time for our whole stay which was 5 days. They wouldnt switch our rooms. we had to sleep in a room with a toilet that didnt flush for two days.

on the second day at night the beds didnt have covers on either the the pillows or mattres. the fridge was removed and the kitchen and bathrooms were dirty. the receptionist said we had to wait a day for roomservice to clean the room. i had to insist to get the cover and sheets and had to put them on the bed myself. the room had broken dirty cabinets. the experience was not enjoyable.

1 star means 1 star. Spend more money, sleep better!

Well I'm a bit spoiled so i had hoped for one or two amenities. The room was clean and office needed a little more cleaning yet the location was great.
