Americas Best Value Inn & Suites

We stayed 2 nights here and our room was not cleaned during the day. We had to re-use the towels from the previous day. i called down to get some fresh towels and was told I already had them. After infoming the man at the desk that I did not have clean, fresh towels, he informed me their was a washer and dryer on the first floor I could use. Secondly, the neighborhood was frightening. The pool had a foul oder, and had not been cleaned since Katrina blew through, so it seemed. There was scum on the walls along with algea. I will never stay at this hotel ever again. It was a bad experience all the way around.

My experience there? It's the most terrible experience I've ever had! They didn't have the features advertised on Orbitz. When I asked the receiptionist about that, he said that he didn't know why Orbitz posted the features because they never offered to their customers! Even worse, they never make the bed because most of their customers are drug dealers/addictors and night girls, so they often stay at the hotel for only a few hours! It's really bad that Orbitz didn't do their checking job and posted a hotel that was so terrible. When I called Orbitz, the lady who answered the phone said that the information they posted was based on what their clients told them! So Orbitz doesn't have a system that can check the correctness of the information. Orbitz just can't blame that on the hotel because travellers choose a hotel/service based on what Orbitz advertises on the website. This is a very very bad experience. It's not only the hotel was bad but also the customer service policies of Orbitz are very irresponsible! I will NEVER, NEVER NEVER use Orbitz again!

It was Mardi Gras so very little time was spent in the room. Although each trip to Bourbon Street cost a toll (not too expensive though), more of an annoyance. Of my 4 trips to New Orleans, these accomodations were the worst.

It was a room but it was old, ugly, in a lower income neighborhood and not at all what I would have selected if I had seen it.

It was the worst hotel i have ever been anywhere in the world.Mold everywhere had alergies spike.[*] or [*] on the walls in the bathroom.

This hotel is more like a boarding house for all the local hookers, drug users and homeless people. The hotel is very POOR condition and the room were dirty. There was loud music well after midnight. Someone started beating the HELL out of the door next door starting at 6:00am and went on for over a half hour. THIS PLACE IS A DUMP!!!!!!

It was Jazz Fest weekend in New Orleans and I booked this hotel 5 days in advance. When I showed up to claim my reservation at the hotel (around midnight in a sketchy looking neighborhood underneath the high way), the desk attendant gave me an unfortunate expression, checked through some papers for my name and said, "Sorry, [...] has overbooked a you and like 20 others tonight."So with almost every hotel booked, I called [...]! So my friend and I are stuck on the other end of the country without a place to stay. Luckily, we found the last room at a Comfort Inn a few blocks away.Moral of the Story: BOOK THROUGH THE HOTEL ITSELF!! CALL THE HOTEL AND MAKE YOUR OWN RESERVATION, and you'll be much happier.

Stayed here because of the location, but wasn't great. Rooms needed updating (better linens, ceiling repair, better bed), but was fairly quiet.
