Very nice, great location
I very much enjoyed my stay. Love the hotel bar, the lobby, the location (right smack where you want to be downtown). Room was very comfortable and clean, and the decor was tasteful and classy, but still modern. Great TV, good internet and WiFi. Bed very comfortable, with lots of pillows of varying firmness. The only less-than-perfect detail was that the room felt a little small. It's a restored hotel from the 1920s, so there's not much to be done about it, granted. Bathroom had shower-stall only - it was spacious, bright, clean and very relaxing. I'm not the bath type but if you are, you might want to ask about it.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
Boudreaux & Thibodaux's is a bar nearby on Third St. It's a little less snobby than Roux House, the Office or Tsunami, and little less rough than Punchers or Happy's. Good casual atmosphere, cold drinks. If you go on a week night or early, there'll probably be plenty of space to relax on the second-story balcony and enjoy the breeze.

Good Night Baton Rouge
Hilton Downtown Baton Rouge is a warm, historical place to visit, even on a freezing night on the River. Employees were friendly and exuded the down-south warmth and kindness that is indigenous to South Louisiana. The Little Village Cafe was a short stroll from Hilton, and the food was fabulous! Compared to previous stays in downtown Baton Rouge, this was quite an enjoyable experience.

Never again!!!!
We arrived at Hilton Baton Rouge Capital Center and there was no one to valet my car. Proceeded to front desk to check in where the manager on duty advised me that I wouldn't be able to receive a massage the following day even though I when I had called for my reservation they said it was no problem (no masseuse on Sunday). Next we go to our room where it was 85 degrees (a/c not working). Called front desk and they acted as if I didn't no how to work the thermostat. After 15 minutes and two calls back to front desk they called me back and said they would do me a favor and move into another room soon. Ten minutes after that someone shows up to help us move. Not help with bags just brought us a key and told us where our room was. After we get to our next room we notice there is no tub only a shower for handicap/wheelchair. Not what we wanted or reserved. Called clerk again and advised him at which time put me on hold for manager. I asked the manager how much would it cost for me to upgrade to a Master Suite he ignored the question and said that no more rooms were available (at check out I found out was a lie). So now we take a shower and most of the water leaks out of shower and into bathroom (about a inch of water). Time to brush teeth standing in about a inch of water I get shocked by vanity mirror that is approx. waist high (handicap). Getting shocked while brushing your teeth standing in a inch of water REALLY SUCKS!!! Went to bed and woke up to room service :-) Wrong. Food was cold and milk was hot and expired the same day as they were serving it. $50 dollars later for breakfast it was time to go. Go to front desk to check out and advise manager of problems where he proceeded to say sorry (not to sincere at all) and ask me to pay $18 dollars for parking. I think they would have to try to give any worst service. NEVER AGAIN!!! EVER!!!
