Crazy Elevator

This is an average place to stay. Sometimes it is difficult to turn into the property from the road due to very busy traffic. The elevator shook and made straining sounds when used. There was no microwave or fridge in the room.

For the Money it was a Great Stay

I didn't expect a lot for the cost, but it was a decent place to stay. Close to freeway and walking distance to several restaurants or tons to choose from if you wanted to drive. I was fully loaded and asked for a room that I could park next to. No garantees, but they made it possible. My bed was comfortable, water pressure was great, air was cold. It had a slightly funny smell at first, cause the place was several years old and hasn't been updated in a while, but after air was circulating, it was fine. Pool looked nice, but I didn't use. Had snack machines, ice, coffee pot, iron and board. Also, shampoo, conditioner and shower soap dispensers. I checked in with David, but spoke to woman on 1st shift, assuming manager, for my special request and check out, both were very nice, as well as, housekeeper that I spoke with. For the cost, for 1 or 2 nights, it was a great, easy stay. I would stay there again.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

If going to downtown Paducah try the coffee house around the corner from visitor center. It's a German bakery in the middle, the coffee house on one side and a deli on the other. Museum across the street and on 1 of 2 cobble stone streets. Cannot think of name. I got there to late for breakfast and early for lunch, but deli made me a Bacon, Lettuce and Fried green Tomato sandwich with Zapps chips, delicious. Topped off with a mocha, because to much to choose from, so I stuck with the standard. My barrista looked like Dave Navarro, he said he also gets Apollo. I collect stickers and the only paducah sticker was I love my barista, paducah, Kentucky. Got postcards from gift shop next to ice cream shop. Everyone very friendly.

Great location for travelers

We were looking to stay close to the interstate, yet wanted something clean and affordable. We received both with this visit. Have already recommended this hotel to my daughter who will be traveling later this year.

Good Value

I had a one night business trip and did not need a super nice expensive hotel. Thrifty was clean with completely new bathroom. The hotel was close to several good resteraunts, some within walking distance. When I checked in the clerk had my keys ready and room assigned. It took me all of 30 seconds to checke in. I would definitly stay there again, and will.

Poor Continental Breakfast

Arrived late, passing through overnight. They did save us the last room but there were no parking spots left in the parking lot. Great water pressure for a shower but, tub bottom had ground-in coal dust or oil perminantly staining the bottom. Room initially smelled mildewing until we turned on the A/C for some time, or we just got used to it. Our room was on the Interstate side and was very noisy for the rest of the night. The continental breakfast was a collection of stale donuts and bagels, also cold cereal, 2% milk and Orange Juice product. Coffee was available, but thin.
