Beautiful hotel, but . . .

The hotel was built in the early 1920's so construction standards were not what they are today, but still beautifully decorated and very ornate. Noise from other rooms and from the outside is more noticeable. We used an App on our IPad to make white-noise so as to cancel out most of the noise. The bathroom was small; low water pressure in the shower. We did enjoy our stay there.

Brown Hotel Louisville, ky

Nice Staff. Polite and old school. Upgraded to club floor. Like many old hotels, the lobby is much grander than the rooms. Amenities: no minifridge. Can't really walk out at night. Very downtown. I probably wouldn't stay there alone in the future. I think I personally would like a few more amenities.

Concert Heaven

This was a great getaway. When there is a concert at the Palace, the Brown is the only place to stay. Excellent service and we were even upgraded due to our status with our booking agent. The Brown is the best.

Great weekend getaway.

The staff was amazing. From check in to checkout everything was great. Starting out we were put on a club level with access to the club room. Granted it was a small club room but it was a very unexpected surprise. The location was nice, within walking distance of multiple restaurants and bars.

Nice accommodations on our 50th anniversary!

Very comfortable room with lovely decor. We were pleasantly surprised to receive "Club floor" amenities: drinks and canapes in late afternoon and breakfast the next morning! The historic ambience at the hotel is a plus. And it is within easy walking distance to many eateries and bars.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The English Grill is very posh and suitable for a special occasion. Pricey for just everyday dining, however. The restaurant is where the "Hot Brown" originated.

Perfect weekend

I only have good things to say about our stay at the Brown. Valet parking always had our car ready in 5 minutes. The maid service was impeccable. Location is perfect to downtown Louisville attractions. We will stay again.

In the middle of everything, but also a world away!

The Brown Hotel is an interesting mix of luxury, history, and being right in the middle of everything. You are a short walk from great little shops, hoppin' restaurants, and nightlife. But you are also just steps away from the amazing ballroom, the beautiful architecture, and luxurious accommodations. It makes this a perfect spot for a special occasion when you don't want to be bored, or stuck in a stuffy hotel.

Great stay at Christmas

We're from Louisville but live in another city now. This year while visiting family we decided to stay in a hotel, and picked the Brown, which is literally "ground zero" in Louisville, and has a lot of history associated with it. It was quiet at Christmas-time, but a bonus was that we got a room and service upgrade. 9th floor corner room at 4th and Broadway! I don't normally enjoy spending much time in hotels, but this was an exception. Very clean, spacious, comfortable and pleasant decor, great service, quiet, good location. The only minus is somewhat expensive parking in the garage next door.

A fabulous evening with every creature comfort available. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, and very friendly staff. Most importantly, it was super clean. Upgrade to the King size luxury rooms, and you won't be disappointed.
