Jameson Inn Louisville South

offered late check in however gave our rooms away. Front desk clerk could not reach his supervisor and we were left stranded in Louisville Kentucky Derby weekend with no rooms. Found the LaQuinta INN around 3:30am and it was very nice clean.

The staff was very friendly and the facilities were very well kept. Close to the interstate (but not so close you hear the traffic) and very convenient to downtown Louisville. Nice continental breakfast (waffles and biscuits/gravy in addition to cereals, muffins). Excellent value.

My buddy and I paid in advance through [...]for two nights of the Kentucky derby. We had guaranteed reservations for two beds in a non-smoking room at the astronomical rate of $370 per night. Jameson Inn provided one bed in a smoking room with an air mattress. The room had one towel. The polite new manager offered a complementary free night 6 hours from our home on any non-special event night and blamed all the issues on [...]. I can take the price gouging but not the screwing.

Just needed a place to sleep while on business. I arrived tired and hungry. The staff was friendly and there were a number of places to grab a bite to eat near by.

Great breakfast bar. Clean rooms. Staff helpful and pleasant. A big plus is free wireless internet. Conveniently located to airport and easy access to downtown Louisville. Trip marred by two negatives. First night's stay wife was locked in bathroom and could not get out. Called front desk for help and sent up friendly maintenance woman who could not get bathroom door open so she finally concluded that bathroom door had to be broken down. During entire stay management never acknowledged that bathroom door was damaged nor attempted to fix it. During entire stay there were no cable news channels. In itself this is no great tragedy but this time it was annoying because we could never get news about the March 11 earthquake/tsunami occurring in Japan. We were informed that local cable provider was updating cable services and channels but found this odd because there was no resolution to cable service after a week's stay.

The staff was very courteous, the breakfast was good, the bed was comfortable. Yes I would do it again.

Used this as our base hotel for Breeders Cup. Hotel was fine but they were very confused about our prepaid online reservations. Some of our party were told they had to pay while others were checked in correctly. Tried with various front desk staff to work this out. Great trainee on the desk the morning of our check-out who did everything right, but had no power to deal with this problem. No manager on duty at the hotel. Be sure you bring your confirmation!!

The hotel staff at the Jameson were awesome. After booking a night's stay via [...], I called the hotel to confirm. The agent I spoke with said "I don't know how you were able to book the room, we have no availability and haven't had any all day. We have been turning people away." She very graciously took my name and phone number, found a room at another Jameson Inn (about 15 minutes away from the one I booked), called me back in 15 minutes and gave us the same [...]rate. Beware of booking via [...]! But, serious kudos to the Jameson Inn!
