Disgusting. The pool area reaked of urine. The hotel let a couple from another hotel come in and used the pool and they proceeded to drink beer out of glass bottles and smoke in the pool area. Our room smelled terrible. Was extremely disappointed.

We enjoyed our stay
We thought this was a great hotel. The room was clean, the beds were comfy, the shower had great water pressure, we did not hear any noise from adjacent rooms, and the breakfasts were delicious. Several other reviews I read before staying mentioned noise from the nearby train tracks, but we found it to be unnoticeable, despite that our window faced the tracks. Right there the trains go under a bridge and don't cross the street, so they don't blow their whistles. Or at least, we never heard a train whistle the two nights we were there. When the trains did pass, it did not shake the building and the noise certainly wasn't anything to wake someone up. Instead, what was much noisier were the ambulances going to and from the several nearby hospitals. Still, I don't think they ever woke any of us up, and they did not bother us. However, I think that the ambulances were frequent enough and loud enough that they might bother someone who is a light sleeper. (I rated the amenities as 5* because the field is required but I really can't comment on them as we did not use the pool or the fitness center.)

You decide!.
We were there for a cheerleading clinic put on by some of the University cheer team. The room had two full size beds instead of two queen beds, the door to the pool area became inoperable right at the time when we were about to use it, and the on call maintenance person wouldn't come in to open the door for us, or the others that were there for the same thing. No frig, or microwave in the room(we undserstood that there was by the listing...i.e. it didn't state that "not all rooms have these items")

UK convenience
When I checked in at the desk, the clerk wanted to charge me an additional $25 for my dog. I insisted that I chose the hotel due to allowing pets so it should have been included. The breakfast spread was wonderful and the choice of firm and soft pillows was a nice touch.

The staff members were nice!
I went to lexington to take a conference at UK, the location of the hotel is perfect! It's just blocks away from the UK, very convenient! There is a railroad nearby, it is a bit noisy when the trains passing by.

The Panda chinese cuisine is really good, but a bit expensive. It is 2.5 miles away from the Inn on the S. Limestone street.

Lex Holiday inn express
I have stayed here 4 times now. It's not the fanciest but the staff is alway helpful with various needs of the stay and traveling.
