Rating of the Ugly

I had stayed at Days Inn, Grayson once before and found it to be a bad experience--commode not flushing, reported it x 3, was never fixed in three days stay, ended up using garbarge can to run water in and then dump in commode. Decided to try stay there one more time. Checked in on 05-26-11 had to make a $50.00 deposit "just in case I stole a washcloth or a towel" Went to room, Curtains were hanging loose from curtain rod, Asked next morning to have curtains fixed back on rod. Surprise, surprise was never done. That day I found my door that went from hall way into room was not locking and was told it was "just where the building was built on a swamp and building was sinking" Again, door not fixed,I did not get much sleep for three nights wondering if someone was going to enter my room. Even though I had paid for another day, I left the Motel knowing I would not get the money back since I had prepaid. But I did demand my $50.00 back, since I did not steal any wash clothes. Needless to say, I will never stay there again. Trust me, I will always be at the Holiday Inn after this.

Horrible Customer Service at this hotel!

When we first got to the hotel...they asked for a $50 cash deposit on the room in case we "Stole something". I offered my credit card to hold, they said we have to charge the $50. [...] They put me in a smoking room when my confirmation said that that i paid for a non-smoking room. On the second night they did not clean out my coffee pot or give us and fresh glasses. The coffee was spoiled by the next morning. Gross! My eyeglass case was either taken or thrown away! The staff was not friendly at all

Even tho there was a great restraunt next to the hotel, it was nice to have the continental breakfast right there where we were. We had the breakfast twice. Location was good. Right off the interstate, near gas stations, K-mart, food places. Easy to find.

Shone's restraunt was right next door. Great food, waitresses and good prices. Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets.

Long time gone...

Acceptable, basic accomodation.

I was attending a funeral and needed basic, and short notice, accommodations. That's what I got! The cigarette burns in the blankets and cushions were standard fare. The towels were scratchy and small. The construction/maintenance was shabby. While the staff was polite, they didn't go out of their way to be helpful. I asked for a late-checkout and was told I had to ask in the AM...when the documentation in the room directed me to ask ASAP! I was told I could stay until 1200 Noon...but the service was at 2PM. As I was the only car in the lot I didn't think it would have been unreasonable to be allowed a later check-out. I would have hoped for a little more understanding as an out-of-town visitor for a funeral. They told me, since I had pre-paid I had to give them a card to hold for incidentals. I didn't want any...but I was forced to do it and "Orbitz should have told me." (Should they have?) I found the property to be, as I said, acceptable if uninspired. For basic accommodation, however, I'll stick to Motel 6, Super 8, LaQuinta, even a Quality Inn. The price was right; and it met my needs. But, I *only* got what I paid for!
