A Dive

Not child friendly, bathrooms dirty, bed linens burnt and stained, and bathrooms reeked of urine. Hotel staff friendly but didn't make up for the dilapidated condition of the hotel. Was lucky enough to only have to sleep there one night. No luggage carts made it a time consuming chore to unload the car.

decent for the money, but needs work

The first floor was so damp the carpet was wet and anything that sat on the floor for too long became damp. other than the obvious health risks of mold, the staff was nice. another issue was a rude guest that let his dogs run loose, and when I went to the front desk to complain, no one was there.

Good Location

Just needed a place to stay overnight. The hotel just looked old. A/C smelled but at least cooled the room. Staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Good if you just need some place to sleep thats clean.

health alert!

We checked in late, but this place seemed very busy. Even though there was only one person manning the front desk, she did a great job of handling all the traffic, phone calls and various requests without getting flustered. She was very considerate, efficient and friendly. Of the motels in the immediate area, this appeared to be the oldest and most run-down. There are two floors, with the first floor below street level and the second floor at street level. We had two rooms on the first floor and the moldy smell was noticable even in the hallway. In spite of using an enzyme mold cleaner on the coils and inside of the AC, and running a HEPA filter throughout the night, I still woke up sick from the mold in the morning. My teens, who are not so sensitive to mold and were staying in the room next to ours, let me know right away that they did not want to ever stay at this hotel again--because of the mold! The second floor might be better, but I will not be taking a chance by staying here again. I am also allergic to milk, and found only one thing at the free breakfast I could eat: instant oatmeal. Trouble was, there was no hot water to make it with, just hot milk! The kids ate well, but I left without any breakfast.

Time-saving tip: In Hotel

Hotel had a pretty good snack machine and a decent breakfast. This saves you from having to go outside the hotel to find something to eat.

Good value for the money

We were a bit dubious having read some negative reviews. However, most of those were from some time ago. If there were problems in the past, they seem to have been fixed by the time we visited [June 2010]. Yes the rooms are quite snug [aka small] but for a 1 or 2 night stay, they are perfectly adequate. The A/C unit was very good, cooling the room quickly while it was in the 90s outside. Clean linens, comfortable bed, and the pleasant and helpful front desk help quickly complied with our request for extra pillows. The breakfast looked good [juices, coffee, tea, cereals, danish, bagels, doughnuts and a DIY hot waffle maker] although we went across the road for breakfast at Denny's, despite being tempted also by the proximity of Ryans' breakfast buffet, next to the hotel. Room for improvement: the corridors and parts of the room were a little shabby [worn or chipped] and are about due for some TLC. We would have liked to see more electrical outlets in the room. The only one we could find was fully occupied with plugs for the lamps & TV. The concrete area around the pool needed some attention but the pool looked clean, and some families certainly seemed to be enjoying it. Overall, well worth the money. We recommend this Days Inn for a one or two night stay when travel takes you to Bowling Green, KY.

Bowling Green Trip

The room was clean and well maintained, good internet speed and ease of connectivity. This is a great location, food and shopping nearby within all price ranges and ethnic varieties. The staff was very helpful with finding local amenities and the hotel had a great breakfast setup included in the price of the room; plenty of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice and coffee with a nice area to enjoy the meal.
