Beautiful Historic Hotel

The Historic Boone Tavern Hotel and Restaurant is located in Berea, Kentucky. We were there for a wedding, which took place at the Danforth chapel on Berea College campus, and the reception at the Hotel. The service was first class, it was elegantly decorated, and even had the large front porch complete with huge Boston ferns, white rocking chairs and small cafe table/chairs. We thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations, the reception, and the breakfast in the formal dining room. Great southern hospitality, at the same time elegant. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Many people visit the area for the crafts. It is considered to be the Folk Arts and Crafts Capital of Kentucky. In order to hit all the shopping, it would be best to take your car. There is the Old Town Village area, the shops around the hotel, and the Kentucky Artisan Center, off I-75, exit 77.

Great place for retired folks to enjoy

The music and food was wonderful at the Main Street Cafe next door to the hotel (on Saturday night). You must try the peanut butter pie there! There is a lot to see and there are a lot of friendly, talented folks to talk to. The visit was very enjoyable and relaxing. We highly recommend the hotel and surroundings.......

Not disappointed

The staff was friendly and always concerned about the needs of the guests. The dining room menu is eclectic and has some delicious and creative items. The service is excellent everywhere. The hotel's use of furniture, flowers and plants, paintings ...etc. shows attention to detail and creates a pleasing atmosphere.

Wonderfully Enjoyable Location

This is the ideal get-away location. Within the town, yet is very quiet, peaceful, and endearing. Just outside the front doors and within easy strolling distance are galleries, craft shops, and cafes. Historical walking tours and Cumberland Falls State Park are within easy driving distance. Much more to see and do than we were able to enjoy in two days' time. We will be returning soon.
