Ordinary for an Extraordinary price
2 of us stayed only 1 night, never been to Wichita and wanted something clean & slightly more than average. Checking in took forever, and I wasn't even in line. Contrary to the photos, the place is old. My room had been given away and I had to stay next to a storage closet. Carpet is stained. The bathroom has old lime crusted fixtures, and when I asked for an extra set of towels, they literally gave me 1 towel. A/c is old & loud, so's the console TV. I coulda and shoulda paid twenty/thirty bux more for something nicer in town. I recommend staying near the airport if you've never traveled here. NOT worth what I was charged!

Ancient Work out Room more like musuem
Room was Ok. Hotel was old though and workout room should have been a work out musuem for equipment from the 80's. Would not stay there again.

Big Irish Dude
Excellent hotel
I wish I could give a perfect rating, but nothing is perfect. So please consider this a 4.5 star rating. The room was nice, the staff was great, and any qualms I have about our stay at the Hawthorn would be trivial. Suffice it to say that we make trips to Wichita several times a year and we will only stay at Hawthorn.

Everything was great - breakfast, cleanliness and service. Only hitch to our stay was being stuck in the elevator for 15 minutes.

Pleasant surprise
This is a great hotel. Located about 2 miles north of airport. Room was large with excellent king bed. Everything was spotless. Breakfast room was large with a great view, and the buffet breakfast had virtually anything one could want. Night staff did a quick check-in. Will definitely stay there again when in Wichita, and highly recomment it to anyone.

nice but small things matter
no pamplet in the room telling when breakfast was served, couldn't find ice machine the first nite, & the tv remote had no markings on it telling you what the buttons were, very frustrating. could hear next door room tv thru the walls.
