Horrible

I have been staying at this hotel 3 or 4 times a year for the past 4 years and I can tell you that once it was sold and went under new management a couple of years ago, it has done nothing but gone down hill. It used to be a nice place to stay but has gotten to the point where if they paid me to stay there, I wouldn't. They have stopped doing any maintenance and the whole place is starting to fall down around it self. The rooms are filthy and I honestly think I got bed bug bites last time I was there in June 2011. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

More run-down than expected

The clerk was clearly not happy to be there, and was not "unfriendly" but there was no "reception" either. There were people milling about like they actually lived there, even using a grill on the sidewalk? Very strange. The room was not clean, especially the bathroom, which had so much mold I couldn't take a shower and there was hair on the floor when we got there. The halls are very bad, too, and poorly lit. The keys are ancient and hard to use, and I counted THREE exterior doors that were unlocked after 2:00 am. NOT SAFE. The location is not central in town or near the airport, if you don't have a car prepare to pay $16 for a cab to most places, one way. The breakfast was very lacking - the juices were bad, the coffee weak, the only choices were cold cereal, bagels or muffins, or cold bicuits and gravy. Definitely great if you're on an all-carb mediocre diet. It was extremely bad for a Saturday, which should be the better day of all for breakfast at a hotel, as it's supposed to be a high travel day. The hot tub/whirlpool is indoors, which seemed great, until I realized it was hotter outside than in the water. I didn't try the pool, I couldn't bring myself to do that, it just did not look clean, unless the grout and facilities around it were supposed to be decorated in the "fuzzy green mold" style. I could've paid $129 and stayed in a very nice hotel in Old Town, and it would've evened out because I spent $79 for the hotel and $40 on a taxi ride out and back to this location (I do tip for good service) and the hotel would've been a lot nicer. I couldn't give this NO STARS,[...], but trust me, if it was possible, I would've. Simply put: do not stay here.

This hotel is near NOTHING except a couple restaurants. Seriously. You have to drive or catch a cab.
