Overnight stay for taking a standardized test
When I arrived at the hotel, I was given a free upgrade to a full suite, which was amazing. The hotel was beautiful, and the room was very nice; it included a private balcony, kitchen, living room, and separate bedroom. There are only a few complaints about the hotel. The water pressure in the bathroom sink was very poor. It wasn't strong enough to rinse the excess toothpaste off of my toothbrush. The shower (while nice) shot some dirt/rust out of the faucet when I first turned it on. That should be fixed. The television remote (for the two very nice TVs) could have been better. I could not use my DVD player on the one in the living room because there was no way to switch the input, but the TV in the bedroom had a DVD player built in to the system. The sleep button on the remote did not work. Other than that, the staff was very friendly, and the room was very nice, and located only a short drive from the best shopping and food in the city.

Fabulous Vintage Building
This stop was part of a lengthy road trip. We enjoyed the suite (one bedroom with balcony) in this 1920's building. The location was blocks from the state capitol but we arrived in the evening and were unable to avail ourselves of the opportunity to visit the building. The downtown location was questionable so we made sure to unload our car for the night. We had no problems. There was no nearby eateries so we had to drive out for dinner.

Engagement getaway
Senate Luxury Suites was a great place to stay! Only a short walk to the capital building and downtown intrests. We enjoyed the stay and couldnt beat the price for such great service and spacious rooms!

Frequent traveler to Topeka
Nice, clean room
Rooms are in an older building, but have modern ammenities. Beds were comfortable. 3.5 out of 5 for the continental breakfast.

Tops in Service, Can't be Beat
Fabulous personal service, far above and beyond. I paid less than I would for a single room in a moderate/budget hotel and got a huge suite with living room, kitchen, bedroom and sun room that felt more like an apartment that hotel room including a decent breakfast. Beautiful old building in fabulous neighborhood, blocks from the capitol. If you hate cookie cutter steril and are tired of rude service than this is the place for you.

Great!!
We came from Colorado to go to a wedding and visit family. It was only a weekend stay but we had a great experience/ The hotel staff were so nice and were very helpful when we needed help. We brought our dog and everyone was so nice and friendly towards her!! The location was good, but in a good/bad area. The only complaint was we were on the first floor and you can hear everything above you. Other than that we had a wonderful time and we would definately stay there again.

Lounge in the hotel was very clean and the staff were very nice. As non smokers From Co. (where you can't smoke anywhere) we were a little smoked out!!

Funky hotel is just fine
The hotel is a stayover from a much earlier period in Topeka. Its proximity to the state capitol building made me think that it could have served as an important - certainly convenient - temporary accommodation for Kansas legislators when their government body was in session. My suite - two separate rooms and beds that shared a single bathroom - was spacious and clean and comfortable. Lots of room value for the expense. An adequate continental breakfast was served each morning in the basement level of the old, castle-like building. There was ample parking directly behind the hotel building or just across the street. The check-in staff was knowledgeable and helpful in giving requested travel directions and I found the central location of the hotel to be quite suitable to my needs. I intend to stay at the Senate Luxury Suite again and will gladly recommend its accommodations if requested by any family or friends heading to Topeka.

My review of Senate Luxury Suites
The Senate Luxury Suites had almost a bed & breakfast feel to it. Being that it is in an old apartment building, that is exactly what I was expecting. It is high on the character and charm and a little low on the amenities, but it does indeed live up to all that it claims on it's site and in it's profile.

Long walk from hotel
Not too much on the night-scene in Topeka on the weekends as the hustle and bustle of the capital slows down, but there was a neat little Chinese Restaurant around the corner -- the Golden Dragon.
