Great Bed, questionable room.....

The hotel lobby was beautiful and the desk staff was great. We were on the seventh floor, it took us a while to get there ... since there was some soccer deal going on and the kids staying there pushed every floor button. The halls were very small and reminded me of a cruise ship (not a big deal though). Our room was non smoking but the room DEFINATLEY smelled like smoke. There was only a small sign on the desk to indicate it was non smoking which made me think they just moved the sign around according to your request. The bed was amazing, great pillows, soft big king bed. There was a stain of some sort on the lamp, which was gross and a bit of mold in the shower. The TV was out of date, but the overall look and feel of the room was ok. There was a small indoor pool, but it was packed with screaming kids. The location was great, very close to entertainment and food and in a wonderful neighborhood. The maid did walk in our room at 9 am one morning while we were sleeping, but when she did clean she got the smoke smell out of the room. We were happy enough, our room was was quite especially considering how many kids were staying there, although I did here the man next door singing as I was showering one morning ;). It was a good price, and severed its purpose!

Great accommodations and meeting space

I attended a Primerica event. The event room was very spacious, comfortable and accommodating. It was great to have water ... available during our sessions. The hotel staff was very efficient and curteous. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family visiting the area. I look forward to return for our next event in October. See you then!

Very Nice for the Price...

Upon entering the hotel, my boyfriend and I were beyond impressed. We were greeted by friendly staff, and were promptly ... given our room keys along with 2 delicious chocolate chip cookies. The A/C in our room did not work correctly, so we went and told the front desk and they had it fixed by the time we returned from a quick shopping trip. The indoor pool was very nice, and so was the hot tub. Our favorite part of the whole hotel was the breakfast buffet and the pillows on the bed! We will definitley stay here on our next trip to Kansas...

We were wanting to have dinner then go to a local coffehouse to enjoy some music. We then spent the night at the doubletree ... in overland Park, KS. We enjoyed the room, the spa, and the pool very much. The warm cookies at check in were a nice touch. The room was nice and the way room entrances were arranged it made the hotel seem more private or secluded. Will do it again on some special occasion.

This is the first time I visited a Doubletree experience and it was very nice. We were only there for the weekend; but I got ... to see two states in one weekend. I accidentally went to Missouri not realizing that I was there. If I was going to a football game (NFL) this would be great hotel to book. We were very close to downtown Kansas City. We were very close to the freeway. Very quiet hotel. The restaurant was on the pricey side; but that was an experience. The room was very nice. They gave us a handicap room. So it was very big/roomy.

As you walked through the glass pathway passed the indoor pool to the fitness area, you could look out at the trees and felt ... that you were taking a stroll through the forest. How wonderful to experience such bucolic splendor in the heart of suburbia.

The hotel rooms were very nice and quiet. We also enjoyed having movies in our room. There were two drawbacks. One, there ... was a fireworks display nearby , and we were unable to get back to the hotel, because the streets were blocked off. Also, they were remodeling the fitness center area, and the nearest fitness center was at Embassy Suites. The 23 miles of trails near the hotel were great. The area was clean and scenic.

The Doubletree Hotel Overland Park was comfortable, and had nice amenities for families or those traveling on business. ... Although it was a bit noisy in the mornings, the bed was quite comfy. The only negatives I found were: the lack of counter space for toiletries in the bathroom; and it looked as though the maid had not completely cleaned the bathroom, as there was used soap in the shower - a bit of a turn-off.

There is a great neighborhood restaurant for breakfast and lunch, within a short walk. Starbuck's is a couple doors down from there too.
