Good location to access I70 seemed to be quite considering the interstate was right by the motel.

We stayed here to hit the Renaissance Fair, and go shopping. Not congested, and easy to get in and out.

Small but had everything

The rooms were very clean, the pool was heated--a huge plus, and the breakfast bar was kept well stocked. Easy access to ... I-70, nearby gas station.

typical off the highway type
Judy Aug 5, 2008
When we went looking for the hotel we actually had to call the hotel to ask directions. I was in KC with my grandchildren for ... school shopping and entertainment, baseball and museums. I didn't feel secure in the area after dark. The breakfast wasn't what I was told when I checked in, very sparse. The dining area was very small for the amount of customers. People were standing. The coffee was very good. I took my grandchildren out for breakfast. The carpet was dirty, that was the hall and the room. Our bedspread was torn, a peice about 18" long. The towels were paper thin. Bathroom was clean. The pool area was small and we weren't sure how clean as the water temp was quite warm. Neeedless to say we didn't swim. All in all we were very disapointed and won't stay here or at any of the Comfort Inns again.

What's that smell
Chance Aug 15, 2007
Upon arrival, we entered our room and found it to smell like a combination of lemon and arm pits. It would have been nice to ... open the window to let in some air, but it was 102 degrees. The smell did go away after two days. The fitness closet had a treadmill and a bike, no room for anything else, including air. I tried it out, but resorted to using the neighborhood YMCA. Housekeeping did not clean our room once during our two night stay. The breakfast seargent kept the food well stocked and kept a patrol on everyone. It was very unsettling. Also, the front desk clerk confused us with someone else and tried to give us a new key to that other person's room. YIKES!

Ok for a short trip
Breana Jul 31, 2007
We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre. Overall we had no problems, but we will ... probably look for a different hotel for our next stay, especially for the price we paid- we would have expected more. During check-in the girl at the desk answered two different calls and stayed on the phone making me wait while she offered rates to other customers and booked other reservations. I guess they were more important than me trying to get checked into my room after a long drive.... The room was 'ok', the bathroom was very small, some cigarette burns on the carpet and curtains but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The housekeeping staff was very noisy the next morning even though we were not checking out, we may as well have been with the racket they caused. Also, someone threw up the night before out in front of the hotel and although you had to walk right past it to get in the hotel, no-one seemed to bother with it and the mess stayed the entire time we were staying there- yuck! The parking lot was also very full, luckily there was one spot left for us the next night or I'm not sure what we would have done! There was a gas station right across the street which was great for snacks and Ice for the cooler before the trip home. The breakfast offered by the hotel was good (the staff of the hotel and housekeeping seemed to really enjoy it as well hmmmmm?!! I had to wait in line for them to get theirs?)The pool was very small- we never got a chance to get in because it was always occupied by a family or two which was enough to make the space pretty cramped. Overall- this was a good place to sleep and was close to the highway. Thats about it.

North from the hotel about 2 blocks is state street- Don't go east like we tried, you will get into an interesting part of town. Try west for about 10 minutes, we found lots of different dining establishments and ended up at the Lone Star Steakhouse. Great service and great food!

Very Family Friendly
DEB May 28, 2007
The Comfort Inn Kansas City was very comfortable and cozy. The room was fair sized, providing a desk and two chairs as well ... as a refrigerator, microwave, and our own personal coffee maker in the room. This made our visit much easier in that we were traveling with a toddler and needed to store milk and juice for him to drink and were able to prepare meals for him in the comfort of our room since he is easily distracted in restaraunt settings. The pool and fitness center were great to have so I could get my morning work out and then relax in the pool/spa in the evenings after a long day of walking and visiting with family. The location was very good-we were able to stay close by our relatives and were close by Cabela's and Legend's mall, as well as a wide array of places to eat.

1. A short drive away is a wide variety of shopping choices. There is something for everyone, such as Cabela's for the avid outdoorsmen or Legends for the mall coniseur, or Nebraska Furniture Gallery for the decorator in us all, and many more.
