Standard super8
Nothing special, standard super 8 motel. Small romms, small bathroom. Did have in room coffee though.

Short drive from hotel
Not much to choose from in Independence. I did find a decent resturaunt downtown in the old Hotel Booth, it was a little italian place, good food at a reasonable price.
