Quaint Getaway
We were staying in Hays for a wedding and didn't want to travel home in the same night, so we decided to get a room. The rate was better than most (real) competitor's rates. The accomodations were nice. The room was a little small but had everything we needed in it, although we didn't have a mini-fridge, if we had needed it. They provided very little in the way of continental breakfast, and it was only for a very limited time frame anyway. Other than that, it had a nice fitness/pool area among the other available amenities.

Short walk from hotel
WalMart was within walking distance if you dare to cross the busy street, along with I-Hop for breakfast. Very convenient!

[...]When we arrived and were assigned to Room 208, we found that there was no refrigerator. We also learned (after unsuccessfully trying) that we could not link up to the Internet. The front desk explanation? 'There was a storm or something the other night and some of the equipment was "fried"'.No attempt to discount our bill.

The staff and cleanliness of the hotel made a difficult trip much easier. We stayed 5 nights and had to have our room key reset each day - it would have been nice not to have to do this.

Found something just as good for less
This hotel was adequate. The walls are paper thin. The pool area was poorly ventilated and the water was cold. There were people in there before us and the had a window open thus making it fogging in the warm room with the current outside temps in the teens. We ended up staying in Hays another night but found a cheaper hotel closer to the hub of town with better facilities and better pool area and very friendly staff.

Beds NOT comfortable!!
The staff was extremely friendly, even helping my husband with our bags, it seemed pretty clean. However, the beds were HORRIBLE - my husband and I were up all night tossing and turning to stay somewhat comfortable, finally getting up, not well rested, to drive another 6 hours. Also, the shower pressure was almost non existent, taking forever to rinse shampoo out of my hair.
