Motel 6 Hays

The personal were very nice but I did have some problem with the room. The door would not close, I had to open it up futher then try to force it. A small woman would not have been able to close it. This was a Motel 6 but come on, the door should close.

We had been out late the night before and were going to sleep in but housekeeping woke us up twice around 9:00am. Once they just opened the door and started in and then a few minutes later a different one knocked. Check out time wasn't until 12:00. Not happy about that.

We asked for two doubles in a non smoking room. The room smelled as if it was smoking and they tried to mask it by spraying nasty cologne. The smell was so bad, my clothes and bag smelled like it when I returned home. The noise from the upstairs guests and the air conditioning unit all added to a bad stay. Beyond the hotel, we decided to try and eat something besides fast food, so we went to a Chinese restaurant close by. The food was cold, and almost uneatable. We were beginning to wonder if Hays was worth the stop. The only thing that made our stay in Hays somewhat decent was a friendly clerk at the gas station situated a few blocks up from the hotel at 27th street. Motel 6 is definitely not for someone who wants all the amenities, but for those who want a bargain... compared to other hotels in the same chain, this one was at the bottom. 100 miles away we stayed at the same hotel in Colby and had a 100% better experience.

Shopping, would have enjoyed continental breakfast.

Staff is very accomodating. Could hear everyone walking around upstairs. I always travel with earplugs, and that helped tremendously. If you need a comfortable bed, with wonderful shower, this is your place. No frills, no breakfast, HOT COFFEE in the morning. Restaurants surround this property. The PRICE IS A GOD SEND. I will always stay at MOTEL 6.

I was actually impressed with this Motel 6. We were running a couple hours behind so I called ahead to let them know, and the lady that answered the phone was very friendly and helpful. She stated she would let the night time auditor know. When I arrived, the person working the desk once again was very friendly and proffesional. The ONLY downside I had was no continental breakfast, all they served was coffee and tea in the morning. Upside, The Village Inn restaurant is directly in front, and they serve a great breakfast with very friendly staff also! Next time we travel to Colorado Springs, we will overnight in Hays at the Motel 6.

I went to Hays to shop and go to the theater. The motel is centrally located around stores, great restaurants and movie theater. I will always stay here when in Hays. And I have stayed at the best. For $3.00 more a night I had a microwave and fridge in the room, definitely needed for my insulin. Still less than $50. a night.

The girl at the front desk is really nice and is always there, it seems. But the room was total garbage. I should have spent $10 extra to not have a smelly, fly-infested room with a broken toilet and shower. I am pretty easy to please, but this was just ridiculous. The bed was awful, the sheets smelled moldy. I was appalled. I was too tired to ask for my money back and just needed to sleep.

This Motel 6 was clean and well maintained, and it gave me just what i was looking for a comfortable bed at a fair price.
