Super 8 De Soto

Was an umcomfortable, smoke filled room which was not good for my asthmatic daughter.

I wsa looking for an inexpensive, clean place to stay and this hotel was perfect. The hotel was very accessible from the highway, the staff was very friendly and helpful at check in and check out. The room was moderatately comfortable but certainly what I expected for the price. It was easy to get into Lawrence and there is a McDonald's very near by. I would definitely stay here overnight again.

Reasonably clean, furniture was worn & had been used. Bathroom clean. Lacked a certain something... Breakfast offering was meager. Coffee was old & very little of it, could have been better, could have been worse. Would recommend it if Lawrence was sold out.

Basically okay, no pizzaz! Accommodations were basic, room had been used & furniture was functional but worn. Good location between Lawrence & KC. Not for those wanting quality experience but basics are covered, fair value for the price.

the room was spacious and quiet. we got a good night's sleep. Breakfast was average but we were pleasantly surprised at the hotel itself. It even has a guest laundry which most hotels in it's class do not offer. We found a microwave, refrigerator, and hair dryer in the room that were unexpected in a room for less than $60 per night. I arrived at the motel an hour past the check-in time. The first room I was sent to had not been cleaned yet, so I had to make the trek, with all my luggage, back to the front desk and request another room. On the surface the room looked ok. But... 1) no clock 2) had 3 pillows all of which were flatter than pancakes 3) bed had a dip in the middle of it 4) room was cleaned but clean sheets were not part of the cost of the room I guess as I was there for 3 nites and my bed was made, but my sheets were never changed 5) the soda vending machine was empty except for one choice 6) the snack vending machine was pretty much empty and the snacks that were there had expired use by dates on them, i'm talking use by August '10 dates. 7) a storm hit and the power went out, it happens, but no emergency lighting in the rooms or in the parking lot that I could tell, too much activity in the halls when the lites went out and wasn't going to stick my head out the door to check, not that I could even find the door in the pitch black. I have stayed at super 8's before, I know not to expect a high dollar, high end experience,and am pretty much satisfied with my experiences at them in the past, but I will not be staying at this particular Super 8 again.

This was a trip for pleasure going to the NASCAR races in Kansas City in October. Wish there would have been an elevator instead of just stairs to get to the upper levels. This stay was pleasant and compared well to other trips to Kansas City for the same purpose every year.

Facility was very clean. Beds were average with bad pillows. The breakfast was just adequate. Very friendly/helpful staff.
