Hotel was so-so
The hotel is in great need of an update. I've stayed at Courtyard's before and this one did not live up to my expectations, as compared to other Courtyard's where I've stayed. The room smelled dusty upon entering and there was mold in the grout of the shower.

Great for Valpo University visitor!
We were in town for a prospective student/baseball player visit to Valpo University. The hotel was a moderate walk or 2-minute drive from campus, and our room was literally 20 feet from the baseball field and clubhouse. Comfortable room and decent workout facility and pool. The only drawback was that breakfast was not included.

Long walk from hotel
If you're in the area to visit Valparaiso University, it is very nearby. A reasonable walk in nice weather, or a 2-minute ride by car.

Hated it!
Very disappointing for a Marriott property. Was rated a 4 out of 5. Wow, by who? Arrived after a long drive from Midway airport, to find out that we were on the second floor with no elevator in the building. Did not know such hotels existed. Dragged all 4 bags up the staircase. Not happy. The walls from room to room were so paper thin I could hear the family's converstion in the room next door word for word. No privacy. The pool was too cold to swim in, which was a feature I especially wanted. Did not bother with the $6.95 breakfast, especially since there was a Bob Evans right across the street. Will never stay there again.

Happy Family
Great family getaway
This was a wonderful hotel stay. Very clean and quiet. Easy access to everything; located right on US 30. Staff was excellent and so courteous. Our son loved the indoor-outdoor pool that you could swim back and forth in. Fun mini golf/bumper cars/water slide close by at Zao Island.

Have Gelsosomo's Pizzeria deliver a pizza right to your room; absolutely the best pizza we have ever eaten! Great recommendation by the Courtyard staff.

decorating grandma
A nice place to stay
We were there to attend a family memorial service. We were pleased that the room had both a microwave and refrigerator. The hotel had many guests with dogs there, attending a dog show nearby, which we didn't know about ahead of time. We are dog owners, too, but didn't expect so many at the hotel! Also, there were no accomodations for recycling plastic and glass containers at the hotel. We took them home with us.

This was just an overnight stop for us but I slept the best that I ever have in a hotel. The beds were just recently replaced with new ones and it was a great move on the hotel chains part. The hide a bed could stand to have the mattresses replaced though & they could install hair dryers in the bathrooms. Otherwise this is a great hotel for the price I paid.

Don't remember the name but the women at the desk told us about the great steak house directly a crossed the street from the hotel.

Absent-minded traveler
Above and beyond service
Our stay was just overnight on the way to our destination and we didn't utilize amenities due to our short stay. However, I did leave my laptop behind in my room and the hotel staff (specifically the general manager) went above and beyond to get my computer to me ASAP!
