Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Valparaiso, IN

Very friendly at check-in, and did the little things that make the hotel better like keeping fresh cookies at the desk. Right across the street from Valparaiso University and a short walk (maybe 20 minutes) from downtown Valparaiso. Also DQ next door and Culver's across the street. Comfortable beds, but square pillows can make it a little difficult to roll over. Breakfast was good - had waffles, eggs, sausage on top of typical continental breakfast fare. Rooms a little small - king bed rooms don't have a couch, but the bathrooms were bigger than usual. Yeah, and the shower had an annoying strong spray. Had a pool and a small fitness room (treadmill, elliptical and bike). I'll consider it again next time I'm back in Valpo.

I was there visiting the Law School. It is right next to the college. The people were friendly, the rooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The only thing that was not as good was the breakfast. There was a good selection, but there were several selections that were not as good as they looked. The food was the only thing that needed improving.

For the price I expected more. The location was good for what I needed but it was rather noisy as it is close to the road and there is a Dairy Queen drive thru next to one side of the building. The breaksfast bar was average, nothing to brag about. The manager was from India and the maids did not speak english. The beds wete very hard.

Staff helpful and friendly, room clean and quiet

I had a King suite with a small refrigerator and a microwave...great for storing my leftovers from the restaurant. The breakfast items were great and there was a good selection. The pillows were awesome; never slept on square pillows before. TV was great and I had a wonderful visit in San Antonio. The Northwoods Mall right next door and all the restaurants nearby gave me plenty of options for my free time. I will definitely go back again.

Directly across from the Valparaiso University Campus and close to everything. Nice comfortable room. The only drawback was the complementary breakfast...stale biscuits, terrible scrambled eggs. The pre-packaged items were fine (cereals, yogurt, etc).

Met all our needs.

This hotel was great considering that it was in a smaller rural city. The rooms come equipped with a large fridge, microwave and extra-comfortable over sized chair. All and all, this hotel was much better than I expected.

I enjoyed staying at the hotel very much it was very comfortable, kid friendley and the breakfaxt they offered was very good what I did not like is that there pool was out of order. That is the first thing I look for when I reserve a hotel room and I was not given any notice.
