Football weekend but ?
nd virg Nov 9, 2009
I fully understand that football weekend can be hectic, but the room upon entering had pizza sauce and cheese on the chair at ... the desk and some other biological science project growth on the comfy chair by the window. Had my grandson across the hall so we requested a crib or pak n play for him. NOPE! All out for repair......hmmmm. Little guy slept in the middle so I hear. Location is great cos you can walk 2 lites bang a left and you are on campus. Walking to and fro on game day is the way to go, no bout a doubt it. Get to see Basilica, grotto, TD Jesus, dorms and huge quads. bookstore a must, chaching. Staff at hotel was pleasant and as accomodating as possble and the waffle maker was good stuff. Pool and Hot Tub were nice to have but had to be a pest to turn the jets on. no self service timer on deck. Would go back because of location.

Nice value place
Hondo Nov 1, 2009
I enjoyed the room. Firm bed, non-feather pillows, nice bathroom space, very nice work space, adequate microwave oven, ... spacious room. Also convenient washer/drier, full-time free coffee, good location. There were plenty of comfortable out-of-room areas if you want to meet people or relax outside the room. Location is close enough to ND, downtown South Bend, and the highways. Plenty of area restaurants and services. In-room wireless internet had easy connection and good speed. On the downside: Jacuzzi was tepid at best, although spacious. Pool area was dreary and didn't smell fresh. In-room chair was dated. In-room refrigerator was very noisy. TV was ok, but remote was flaky. Overall, it was a good value for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Staff was efficient and polite but not overly friendly.

Courteous clerk, efficient check-in. Clean room. Had a comfortable chair with ottoman and a desk chair. King bed firm but ... not too much. Lots of pillows. Just as expected. No surprises. Waffles, fruit, cereal, bagels, muffins, juice, coffee. Everything just fine and we would stay again.

Almost a bad review
Justfishing41 Sep 29, 2009
When we first checked in, the receptionist gave us a smoking room when I had requested a non smoking room. It smelled ... horrible. I immediately called and requested a non-smoking room. They said that was all they had available. We we said we were leaving, they magically came up with a comparable non-smoking room. That room was nice and clean but just the thought of that smell of that smoking room was too much. The rest of the stay was good. We had a good breakfast and checked out without a problem.

Great bargain!
JoeRx2007 Sep 28, 2009
This hotel was a great bargain. At first, I was skeptical, but compared to the other hotels on this "strip," this was the ... best bargain. Excellent location that is central to most things you would want to do in South Bend. Jacuzzi was very large for a place like this, but the pool was fairly average. Hotel and rooms have a decently fresh interior. The rooms were a little cramped with the 2 double beds, but there was a fridge (with freezer) and microwave. Only questionable thing was some fit and finish (peeling paint, cob web in corner of shower). By far, the great service really sets this hotel apart. Very friendly staff--not the usual impersonal attitudes. The front desk worker even offered to take a picture for us!

Visit to South Bend
The Murphy's Sep 27, 2009
Staff was friendly. Fast check in. Any problem I had was corrected immediatly. My fan stopped working twice the first night ... and was corrected immediatly. I felt like we were treated special even though the hotel was packed the last two days. We drove a long way (from Buffalo NY) My daughter had an interview at St. Mary's College and it was right next door. We visited Notre Dame frequently as my daughter's boyfriend is at school there and it was about a mile or less away. Would recommend and would stay there again. It was half the price of the hotel chain that we ususally stay at.

A Quiet Night in South Bend
Race Fan Aug 28, 2009
We had adjoining rooms. The rooms are of average size. The rooms in general were clean but one room had mildew in the ... refrigerator and it smelled. The staff was responsive when it was brought to their attention. The pool room and whirlpool were large and uncrowded. If we were to go through South Bend on another trip, the Jameson Inn would be a safe place to stay.

Quality stay at the Jameson
Jim Aug 21, 2009
I was able to easily book a room here through Orbitz a day before my stay. A day later I found out two coworkers on the trip ... had not been able to locate a hotel due to the upcoming Freshmen Orientation at Notre Dame. I called the Jameson Inn, and a very helpful woman named Nancy assisted me in taking care of everything. Both myself and my coworkers were very pleased with the individual rooms along with the hotel as a whole.

The room was clean, the lobby was exceptional. I have to admit that the free continental breakfast was actually very very ... good. Something I usually pay for when traveling for business. The pool was great, the hot tube was huge. Again, the lobby where they served the breakfast was exceptional. I would stay here again.

Sandi Aug 8, 2009
I was attending a wedding at Notre Dame. The hotels double rooms were not equiped with enough towels or wash cloths for more ... than one person. Only enough toiletries for 1 day. Had to go looking for the room cleaning cart for towels, shampoo, tissues Etc. Room cleaning was not done until approx. 1:00 or 2:00 PM. Couldn't shower until I could find more towels. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. It was very pleasent for the most part

About a 10 minute drive from the hotel in downtown South Bend is a great restaurant for a nice lunch, dinner, or Sunday Brunch. Tippecanoe Place is the old Studebaker mansion and is a great place to check out before or after your tasty meal. Be sure to save room for the desserts!
--Kristyn, Indianapolis, IN May 4, 2008
Downtown had several quaint clubs and restaurants. The Vine restaurant was excellent and affordable and Club Fever was the place to be with a huge dance floor and great music.

A Denny's is located across the parking lot and a Bob Evans across the street. Location is about two blocks from the entrance to Notre Dame and St's Mary's College. If using the toll road 80/90 it is about a half block from the exit toll booth for I31.
