Good place to go when you want the world to stop
It is was a surprisingly wonderful stay. It is truly a hidden jewel if you want to go somewhere where there is not a lot of hustle and bustle, a lot of children and where the staff more than happy to serve you. Desiree the front desk attendant was fabulous in all aspects from directions to places to eat and shop. I forgot to mention, my room was very clean.

Very convienent to Michigan City shopping. Swimming pool and hot tub felt great after a long day of shopping. Breakfast was better than average. Staff very courteous. I'll be back.

Just Passing Through
It was late and we were tired. The staff was great, the room was ready, and the beds were very comfy. It was a quiet and clean hotel. I thought it was new, not three years old! We chose this hotel because we were only 45 min. from Chicago and didn't have to pay "City" prices. It even included breakfast. On our next trip to Chicago, we're planning to stay here again.

Money-saving tip:
Not Applicable
When visiting Chicago's downtown area, stay in Porter, only 45 minutes from State Street. We saved $26 in one night parking fees and about $150 in room charges.

Way to go!!!
We arrived early and knew that check in was at 3PM. We asked the staff at the front desk where we could go for lunch while we waited until 3PM for check in. The person at the front desk said that they had our room ready and that they could get us checked in right then. It was only 11:45am! My kids enjoyed the afternoon at the pool while I relaxed reading a book. My room was extremely clean and the amenities for a Comfort Inn, in my opinion were top notch! All of the staff members were very friendly and helpful! I have already booked my next trip at this location because of my experience during this stay. I will recommend to everyone I know.

Filthy, filthy hotel
Chose this property because it was new and a short distance from the interstate leading to MI. Booked 2 rooms 4/18/10. Drove 10 hours; arrived by 5 p.m. - Rooms not ready; no problem. Went to state park to wait. Came back at 6:30, told they were almost clean and ready. Waited more - staff working very hard to change beds. Noticed they only had a staff of 3 housekeepers for the entire property. Dinner, back by 8:30 - tired, went to bed. Next morning, opened drapes and saw it all. I would not have spent the night in this filthy place had I seen it earlier. Here's the list of problems: -lots of blood and food on inside of comforter -witnessed housekeepers drop my washcloths and floor and take them directly to the room (I got more) -Sticky substance on all desks and night tables (wallet and remote actually stuck to the TV table) -trash left behind on night stand from previous clients (who obviously had kids) -floor was not vacuumed (none seen when they were cleaning our rooms) -food on floor in several places -food under chairs -freezer door broken -dirty chair - didn't even want to sit in it -furniture shelves had obviously not been dusted for DAYS on end -dental floss in hallway outside my door -leaks from air conditioners in trash cans up and down the corridors -toothpaste stuck to wall by the hair dryer I was totally appalled and couldn't get out of there fast enough. No one at the desk asked how my stay was, because, I really don't think they cared. Breakfast was a disaster. Food on the floor everywhere and even on the lobby carpet. I took pictures because I didn't think anyone would believe me. Needless to say, I will NEVER, EVER go to that property again. I have complained to Comfort Inn Corporate. Both rooms were a disaster.
