Red Carpet Inn and Suites Muncie

DO NOT stay at this Bates Hotel! Was in a hurry to get to a reception. Needed to shower. First room had no hot water. Moved us to another room. It had hot water which would not shut off. But the shower head would not work, so I still couldn't take a shower! It was now late enough that I had to wash off and get going, now an hour and a half late to my reception. We took our stuff and got a room in another hotel. I need to find out how to get a well deserved refund. Shame on me for not reading the bad reviews to begin with.

When I got to Muncie for Family Weekend after 3 hour drive I went to look for the motel. When I approached the motel it looked deserted. The one side of the motel was deserted!!! door handles broken off, beer can propping a door open, drove around to other side and there was occupancy there but what an awful site!!!! I had to drive 30 min. south to find another hotel to stay in luckily i found one!!! The pic they have for this disgusting place is a lie. This place should be condemned. I was not going to put my life in danger staying at a place like this.

Planning ahead is essential. The college family weekend cause all of my regular hotel stays to be totally booked so i went outside of my comfort zone. For the price it was worth it. The room was clean and the staff was nice and helpful.

We stayed in Muncie for a large triathlon, but made the mistake of waiting to long to book a large-chain hotel. This hotel was perfect however because we only needed a bed to sleep in for a few hours the night before the race: the staff was curtious and friendly, our car was safe in the parking lot, and the room was clean. Those are the only positives. We would not return here with our children however, because the outdoor pool was empty and in bad shape (had been for 3yrs according to staff), and there were no other amenities to offer. If you're looking for a hotel to rest your head...this is it, otherwise...book earlier elsewhere.

This hotel is scary. Half the rooms are not even open and have weeds growing out of the sidewalk in front them. The pool has no water. The carpeting is delaminating from the floor. The clerk keeps track of reservations with pencil and paper and it took forever to find my reservation. Then he said, well, the lock on the door to your room does not work - is that OK? I made him find me a different room, but in it, the bathtub faucet was broken and hot water was running out all night long.

This is the type of hotel that is in high demand and sought after by hookers, crackheads, or other derelicts. The one entire wing of the hotel was being used by local squatters as windows and ac units were kicked in. Our check in took more than a half hour as the clerk at the desk tried two times to charge me for the room that was already booked and paid for using [...]. Once we got our room we had nowhere to plug my laptop as the only two outlets in the entire room were being used for the tv and the two lamps on the wall. The room had a tv but with the HD change over almost three years ago... it didn't receive any channels. Our friends checked in the same hotel some time after us and their door didn't lock! They didn't find out until early the next morning when the door swung open for no reason! We paid $XX tax and total for the room … we found the same room at the same hotel on another Hotel site for $XX and once we got to the hotel they had a sign outside that said all rooms $XX (even less). We will never stay here again and will stay at the better hotels further away like Days Inn which was only $XX. Somehow the old line "Burn ya to Learn ya" comes to mind here, as we defiantly felt burnt by this entire experience.Stay as far from this hotel as possible unless you absolutely positively have no other choice, and even then don't staty here!

Just needed a room for the night, found this inexpensive room. I felt safe and the sheets and shower were clean - that's all I needed.

The rooms were clean and it fit the bill. We knew it was rated a one star hotel so we didn't expect anything high class. We were there to only sleep. It looked liked the place had been recently renovated. If you are not super picky, this place is fine.

The room was very unclean! For example hairs in the bathtub and around the toilet. Dead Bugs around the heater/air conditioner. I was scared to sleep in the bed when I saw the hairs. Bad location! Meaning I think the hotel is used for other things. Only my opinion!

i really enjoyed our stay. the hotel appearance was not great but the room was really nice. i loved the jacuzzi!!! there were no movie channels.
