Motel 6 Merrillville IN

Yes, this is typicaly a motel. You deserve what you pay. Do not expect too much, though they have small swimming pool. As traveller, what i need was simply bed and bath. The only concern was parking lot at the back was too dark, that I had to move my rent car to side yard which was better lighted and been seen from my window.

When we arrived, our room was not ready until 4pm, even though check in time was 2pm. Being from out of town, it was inconvenient, but the overall experience was typical for the $$ amount paid.

Horrible, there was someone doing drugs and smelled in the hallway. we all got sick, there was a fight out side my window and woke my kids. I wont be back

My overrall stay at the hotel was fine. The only problems was that the room didn't have a phone that worked and also that the sheets on both beds was dirty.

The experience was not negative, I knew what to expect with a motel, but now that I know the area, I would have made a different decision in lodging. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the location was along the highway which was to be expected. As others have said, the rooms could be a little cleaner and nicer looking. The bed was comfortable but I felt like that could have been cleaner as well. The bathroom was a little dark and didn't feel very clean. There was also paint peeling off the walls in the shower. Overall this motel did what it was supposed to do. I only needed a place to sleep for one night and a hot shower so it worked out well. Since my time in the room was limited, I didn't mind the lack of amenities but if you wanted to spend more than a couple hours in your room, I think there are some better options in the area. The positives are the staff, location, and price. Negatives would be cleanliness, amenities, and room quality.

It was nice to sleep there

The room was clean. The staff was friendly. We just needed a clean, quiet, affordable place to sleep while we were there so it was perfect. Didn't spend much time in the room, but you don't really go out of town to stay in a room all day. It was about 20-30 mins to Chicago that was more affordable than other places that are closer, so that was cool. Close to the best pizza in Gary, Miller Pizza. Man I want some pizza now. Bottom line, it was affordable and clean at a decent location.

This hotel was very dirty, stains inthe carpets. It smelled in the hallways and garbage was piled up in the hallways. I did not fell very safe to be there. The room did not even have a clock. It was the worst stay I had ever had. I was there for a wedding and needed a place to stay for the night and it was terrible. I over paid for this hotel. In one word DIRTY

I had a great stay. The only thing needed is that we had to check out an iron and leave our driver's license which I thought was a little tacky since we had already paid for the room and they knew what room we are in. Also, no iron board!!!! We had to get down on the floor with a towel to iron our clothes! There was no Kleenex in the room. If you needed that , you had to go to the rest room for toilet paper. And lastly, they need a Do Not Disturb Sign to hand out the front so the staff will not have to knock at every door and holler if anyone is there. If those things are worked on, the rooms will be more enjoyable for their guests. Great location. Clean.
