Extended Stay America - Merrillville - Us Rte. 30

I have stayed here a few times while I am conducting business in East Chicago. Overall, the rooms are functional. Each room has had it's individual trials, but nothing has ever been anything but minor: shower drain slow, refrigerator not turned on, someone stole the batteries from the tv remote, small hole in the comforter. On the other side, the rooms are always neatly maintained and ready at check-in. The staff is very nice and always ready to help. As the hotel is pet friendly, there is always a dog or two around, which as a dog lover suits me fine, but be aware, sometimes the dogs can be protective of their rooms :-).

spent about 12 hours at the hotel for watching a little t.v. sleep. shower. and got ready in the morning. There was nothing to complain about really but nothing jaw dropping.

Very clean rooms, quiet, full kitchen, and close to mall and every type of dining.

We just stayed one night. We were allowed to check in early, and the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and quiet. The kitchenette was equipped with everything necessary. We would definitely stay here again.

Staff allowed early check-in since I was willing to take a room on the first floor. Arriving back from a wedding and reception eleven hours later, a clean, quiet, restful room was exactly what I needed!

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff was courteous and helppful. However, I didn't pay enough attention to the acronym ESA (Extended Stay America)and as a result, I paid for amenities I didn't need like a furnished kitchen and refrigerator. I was there only one night and really couldn't use those. At the same time, I was asked to pay extra for amenities I did otherwise want like wi-fi access, a feature many less expensive chains include at no extra cost.

Not bad at all. very friendly staff. You NEED TO ASK for hair dryers (and I had to ask for shampoo), but they have them. Not a bad stay at all. Internet does cost $5 per stay, which is a drag if you're only staying a day like I was.

Good Value, we were on a long trip on a budget, stayed two nights and got a good deal. Clean, nothing fancy but for the money was an overall great value. Had a full kitchen with fridge, so that was a bonus, we were able to make our own breakfast. Store close, just down the road. Would stay again

The room was clean and comfortable. The desk attendant was dry and unfriendly as hotel staff usually goes(and I have travelled extensively). She was the worse.

The hotel wasn't clearly marked, aside from the sign really high up for highway traffic, past the only entrance, making it hard to locate among all the other hotels. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room appeared to be clean except for something white on the bathroom and main entrance floor--cleanser maybe? I'd expected a hairdryer and was disappointed. I was also disappointed by the large number of ESPN channels and lack of other channels like HGTV, Food Network or TLC. It wasn't a bad stay, it wasn't great either.
