Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Merrillville, IN

We had a one night stay at the Country Inn & Suites. Andy, the manager met us at the front desk, he was very pleasant and acommodating, even had recommendations for where to go for dinner when I asked. The room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The hotel is non-smoking and they are very serious about it, but it leaves the place smelling very nice. Located next to the mall and lots of restaurants. The staff called up to the room after we checked in to see if theire was anything that we needed. The breakfast was great. I would stay there again. The pool looked nice but we didn't have a chance to use it.

Breakfast was not very good- blah selection loaded with carbs. No meat. Kids running the halls until 1:00 in the morning and then all morning the next day. Wifi was hit and miss. And the topper was when we went to use the ice bucket and in it were hot dogs floating in water left by the last guest. Yuck. The front desk responded with-"Ew. Do you want a new bucket or do you just want us to clean out this one?" Really?

Been there twice - Andy, the manager is a very positive asset to that hotel. The staff is very friendly - one guy at the front desk needs to loosen up, extremely business like, barely a smile. A computer failure was managed well and with a smile. A place to feel good. When I am in that area again I'm going to stay there - and hope there are only changes to an even better performance.

The rooms have been clean and the cleaning crew very fast and friendly. The manager (Andy) has been very polite and could be a positive example for other hotels.

Stayed here for business/pleasure trip in the area. We stayed for 8 nights. Everything was in order. The staff were friendly. The free breakfast was nice. Most of all - the hotel is in great condition and the room was spotless.

The staff were VERY concerned about our needs. I was on the first floor with with a temper tantrum throwing child above me. after a night and a morning of the racket above me, I asked for a new room. Instead, the staff took care of the problem,... no more noise! Words canot express the level of satisfaction with this team of staff members. the room was spotless, every day, the breakfast was great, the service was fantastic. the only downside was that when the temperature drops below freezing, the side door lock won't open with the key card and i had to walk around to the front and let my family in. However, as this was the ONLY negative I can come up with, I will return to this hotel. Just in warmer weather.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was big and had a recliner and desk. I liked that the bathroom and vanity were separate from the rest of the room. Everything was very clean, the mattress and pillows were also very comfortable. They offered great choices for breakfast also. I would defiantly stay there again.

Every hotel worker we encountered had a smile on their face, and they all greeted us. It was comfortable, quiet, and clean!

Very pleasant staff and the room was very spacious.
