Motel 6 Lafayette IN

This hotel was very ordinary. There was nothing special about the accommodations, and no special amenities, however the room was adequate for our needs and comfortable. The room was mostly clean, but the knob on the heater was broken, so it was hard to turn the heat on. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. There was no continental breakfast or shampoo in the room. Overall, better than I expected, though I would definitely call it a "no-frills" experience. Oh, and bring your own hair dryer.

I was in Lafayette for a 3-day conference at Purdue. The Motel6 had good reviews and a very affordable price. It is in a plaza with three other hotels. I found the staff to be very service-oriented and friendly. The room was clean. Beds were comfortable, everything worked, and plenty of outlets to charge laptops/phones. It had a mini-fridge and microwave. It had a very good, strong shower and a decent sized tub. The A/C worked great. The window was a non-openable type which helped me feel more secure, because it was a first floor room. Door used a keycard and had three locks on the inside for nighttime security. There were only three downsides I could think of. One, the drive to Purdue took longer than I thought it would, 16 minutes. Easy drive straight down State Route 26, but Lafayette traffic moves slowly. Two, the neighbors were noisy. I didn't hear anything through the walls, but, you could hear the noise from the parking lot. People who stay at Motel6 aren't always the most thoughtful type. They were talking loudly from their balcony and they revved their pickup truck a lot. Three, there was no alarm clock in the room. But, the wake-up service from the front desk worked fine. I would stay there again if I was on a budget. I felt safe and slept well.

No coffee or shampoo but it did have a refridgerator and microwave.

Staff was friendly, bed was comfortable. There are a few restaurants that you can walk to. It's about 6 miles out from downtown, but most of the hotels are.

It was homecoming weekend at Purdue, therefore this was my only choice. I have stayed in other better yet affordable hotels in the very same area

Efficient checkin about midnight, but the tax rate added to the price (over 12%) came as a surprise. Apparently, AARP or AAA discounts are not available certain weekends of the year when the motel is busy. In room air conditioner was very very loud. Gourmet coffee was excellent and parking was convenient. Watch that top step on the outside steel staircase. It is several inches higher than every other step! Building seems ancient with creaky floors that need updating. As an omen, my daughter spotted a large bug leaving under our room door when we checked in. Later we found it (or a companion) in our bathroom. Fridge and microwave worked fine. Lots of road repair in the area complicates travel.

You can't beat it for the location or price. It's half the price of most other motels by Purdue U and it has a small fridge and micro. It's only a couple minutes away once you get off I-65. When I go back to visit my son at Purdue I will stay at the Motel 6 again.

Room was very clean and staff very friendly. Very basic needs however. No shampoo, hairdryer, tissues.

When I got to my room there was an odd odor in the room, and there was a fan blowing which appeared be drying something on the carpet. There were also several rags laying on one of the beds. When I called down to the desk to state that the room did not seem ready I was offered to move to another room, but one that did not have a working heater. I opted to stay in the room. There was also only one towel and when I asked if I could have another I was told I could come get one. Also for some reason, although there are two pillows on each bed, they only put a pillow case on one pillow per bed.
