Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LAFAYETTE EAST

After check in we arrived at our room and opened the door to find a stranger sitting at the desk on a laptop with the TV blaring. We apparently scared the person who then mumbled something about being maintanence and "checking that everything was working" in the room, the man made a hasty retreat. After noticing he also left his cell phone charging, we contacted the front desk and the desk clerk arrived promptly, so promptly that a few seconds later the "maintenance man" followed shortly behind to collect his cell phone. The hotel apologized profusely for their mainenance staff's obvious blunder and called the room shortly afterward to let us know they were reimbursing our room fee. Kristen, the front desk clerk, promptly called the booking site and we were issued an immediate refund for the full price. After a horrible beginning we were more than pleased with the way things were handled (the gentleman was told to turn in his keys and return on Monday to speak to the general manager). The room was clean and the hotel obviously either new or recently remodeled. Because of the efficient and helpful staff and prompt refund we will definately stay in this hotel again when in the area. If not for that unfortunate incident, we would have rated the hotel a full 5 on all accounts.

Had trouble checking in because they had my confirmaton number showing with another person. Took awhile to get resolved. Room was nice and large. Bed was very comfortable. Slept the whole night thru very soundly. Breakfast was good and the food was plentiful.

Hotel was very nice, clean and appeared to be new or newly update. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was more than I expected at a Holiday Inn Express.
