We were in town for a wedding and were fortunate to have a hotel with a great location. The rooms were clean and offered ... everything we needed for a relaxing night, especially the amazingly comfortable beds--almost like being at home!

Do the valet parking--it is so worth the small additional charge especially in cold weather.

Nice remodel!
Jenny G Oct 13, 2009
Hotel was nice and was within walking distance to the mall and to alot of nice restaurants. There is a Ruth's Chris ... steakhouse and St. Elmos right there. St. Elmos is delicious! As far as hotel... parking was $25! Ouch! Hotel was clean, nice staff and rooms were nicely remodeled. The only downfall... We were traveling without our child for a relaxing weekend, and the walls are fairly thin and we could hear the child next door fussing, crying, all night long. It woke me everytime, and I'm a fairly deep sleeper. But, there's not much to be done about that! Otherwise, very nice stay!

Know what your guests want
John Jul 12, 2009
My wife and I were in Indianapolis to attend the USA Swimming National Championship. The Sheraton was a sponsor and ... recommended by Orbitz. Great location in the city. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and walking distance to the pool. No rental car needed! We have attended several swimming events in Indianapolis, but this was our first time staying at the Sheraton. We normally stay at one of the Marriott's but our son, the swimmer is a Starwood member, staying at the Sheraton so we joined him and his wife! Our big disappointment was Friday night after his last swim! We went to St Elmo's Steak House for a late supper, and returned to the Sheraton at 10:50 to have a QUIET evening of cocktails in their lounge only to discover it was last call!!!!!!! The bartender did accommodate our request and told us the bar normally closes at 11 PM if there are no customers. At 5 after 11, several hotel guests showed up ready to also have a late night cocktail, but .......... We had our one cocktail and went to bed. We could have gone to several lounges in the area, one of which was the Marriott. (I am a Silver member) If you are planning to have a late supper and return to the Sheraton for a late cocktail on any night during your stay, I would suggest you make sure the Lounge is open before you make your reservation. Good location, lovely view of the downtown. Short walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Staff was efficient, ... courteous, and welcoming. In room safe and magnifying mirror was absent. Sheraton Indianapolis City Center
Frequent traveller Mar 3, 2009
This Sheraton does not match up very well with other Sheraton locations: needs to be renovated - looking a little tired, my ... room was not fully made when I checked in - hide-a-bed was open and cushions were scattered on the floor, the parking garage gate was broken for all three days of my stay - I needed to buzz the concierge to come outside and open the gate each time I left the hotel parking lot. I was also a little surprised to have to pay for wireless access in my room; many hotels include this in the price of the room. On the positive side, the location is excellent and is centrally located.

MY WIFE AND I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AT THIS HOTEL; WE ALSO BROUGHT OUR TOY POODLE WITH US. THE STAFF AND EVERYONE THERE WERE ... SO PLEASANT AND TRIED TO DO WHATEVER WE NEEDED. THE ROOM WAS BEAUTIFUL AND SPACIOUS. WE LOVED THE KING SIZE BED AND THE 42 INCH PLASMA TV, IT ALSO HAD A GREAT CHAIR AND FOOTSTOOL WITH IT. BEAUTIFUL PLUSH ROBES TO WEAR; STARBUCKS COFFEE IN THE ROOM AND BOTTLED WATER. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR? GREAT VIEW. IT WAS CLOSE TO A LOT OF ACTIVITES FOR US; PARKING WAS IN A SECURED GARAGE. WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT.

OK but not worth what I paid
Debra Aug 8, 2008
My stay at the Sheraton in Downtown Indianapolis started off well. I was greeted by a friendly desk clerk and was happy to ... get a complimentary Hershey's bar. As I walked through the hallway to my room, I thought everything was clean, but the decor was a bit dated. My room decor was much more contemporary, and I had a nice view of Monument Circle. Since I had a rough day, I wanted to take a nap on the firm yet comfortable mattress. However, I was interrupted moments later by a call from the front desk asking me how everything was. Even though I had told the person who checked me in that I didn't want a wake-up call, I was asked that question again by the person who called me. Following my resumed nap, I went to the pool. I thought it was cool that it was on the 9th Floor, and it was an adequate size. I also appreciated the fact that the pool was heated. To get ready to go out to a concert after my swim, I usd the bathroom to take a shower and get ready. For the quality of hotel that the Shearton purports itself to be, I found it strange that the toilet stool was like that one would find in a public restroom. While the hot water lasted through my shower, there was no fan to ventilate the steam that it left behind. When I got back from the concert, I tried to adjust the temperature in my room because it was a bit chilly for me. I also set the air conditioning zo that it would switch off when the room was the appropriate temperature. It seemed to get wormer, but the air conditioning neverseemed to shut off. Before I went to sleep, I took advantage of the exercise room and the free computers in teh business center. The equipment in the exercise room was modern and in good shape. The mouses on the computers in the business center, though, either needed to be replaced or at least cleaned because I had trouble working the one attached to the computer I was using. When I woke up with the next morning, I was greeted by a peice of paper under my door that upset me. There was a bill for $22 for parking. When one enters the parking garage, there a sign that says the one needs to pay for the parking charges before exiting or to have their parking ticket validated at the des, which I took to mean that parking was free. If I had known that there was going to be a $22 charge for parking, I might have opted to stay somewhere else. On the other hand, even with the $22 parking charge, the Sheraton is the best bargain I was able to find in Downtown Indianapolis. To be fair, if I had made a reservation for another stay at the hotel, the parking fee would have been waived. Because the Sheraton is in Downtown Indianapolis, it is near a lot of the city's attractions, so it is a very convenient place to stay. But I might try to find alterntive parking arrangements if I stay there again.
