Nice Hotel

I had to have a room change due to a leaking ceiling in the bathroom. Front desk was very helpful in making the change. However, it would seem that a hotel of this caliber would have caught this problem before a customer was assigned. On one morning I had the opportunity to sleep in a bit and hung the do not disturb sign. I left the hotel at noon and removed the sign. When I returned late that evening, the room had not been serviced. The next day, I reported the problem and asked for housekeeping to be sure and check the room. That night I returned and could not locate the TV remote for the bedroom until I got into bed. It was under the sheets! The trash cans were emptied only once in a 5 day stay. For a hotel in this price category, I feel their housekeeping staff needs some attention from management.

Home-away-from-home

Family in town for the weekend and visit/esperience was enhanced by their stay at the Embassy Suites-NW. While a tad off the beaten path the facility provided a peacful and well-appointed home-away-from-home.

First time at Embassy and loved it!

Staff was very helpful. The cooked to order breakfast and manager's reception were great. The kids loved the pool and the glass elevator. We'll definitely go back!

Great site to relax yet get work done!

I was at Indianapolis on both business and pleasure. I got all my work done and enjoyed the meet I was there to see. The hotel environment was conducive to accomplishing this. Free wifi was missing that I could certainly have used. There is a charge for this amenity for 24 hours of use. This trip was very enjoyable because of the location of the hotel, the amenities the hotel offered and the courtesy and help of the staff.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Bravo's, an Italian restaurant nearby, had great food at a reasonable price. It helped that the hotel offered a coupon for a free appetizer, but that didn't sway me; the food was great for the price, and the staff was courteous and professional.

Great hotel, Great location

We enjoyed both the complimentary happy hour and breakfast. The gentleman making the omelets did a fantastic job and was quite friendly. We like the privacy that the standard two room suite provides. The additional living room buffered out atrium noise from getting into the bedroom. The separate living room provided helpful separation for people with different sleeping schedules...one could watch tv, read, or get work done without disturbing the person sleeping in the bedroom. The small balcony was a very nice touch. We were originally a bit hesitant about staying on the northside of Indy compared to downtown. However we quickly discovered the price was much more reasonable, there was free parking, tons of restaurants and shops were within a 5 minute drive, and downtown was still easily accessible within about 20 minutes. Driving around the area near the hotel did not have the big city feel and things seemed quite accessible. Our only complaint was that there was a large group of approximately 10 year old boys running around the hotel all weekend. Despite many warnings from security, they continued running, jumping down stairs, shouting, racing, running into people (and knocking their cell phones and laptops out of their hands), and just being generally obnoxious while other guests were trying to relax. There was almost no parental supervision.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

The complimentary cocktail hour served good drinks and chips and popcorn. It was a nice chance to relax in the hotel, have a couple of drinks, not run up a tab, and then not have to worry about driving back. The complimentary breakfast had quite a tasty diverse selection and could easily save families quite a bit of money. Staying at the Northside location also allowed for free parking, saving approximately $20 or more per night compared to downtown hotels.

Weekend getaway

We booked our trip on August 3 and were confirmed for a smoking room. When we arrived on the 21st, the front desk person said here's your key card for your smoking room. When I called down to ask where they hid the ashtrays we were told it was a non-smoking room and we could step out on the balcony or go out into the parking area. I demurred at that saying we booked plenty early to be assured that we wouldn't have to do that. I was informed there were no smoking rooms available. So I said I wasn't very happy and after being put on hold, I was told that it was ok to smoke after all and they sent up ashtrays. So it all worked out ok.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

This hotel fronts onto 82nd street and the traffic can be really horrendous. It took us half an hour to go the three miles to an Applebees. But there are plenty of other dining places to enjoy. We just had gift cards for Applebees and were bound and determined to get there.

Nice clean room. Plenty of space. WIFI is an additional charge. Breakfast food was very good. Long line for omelet. Evening reception is chips and dip. Elevators are slow. There are 4 for the entire property.
