The room was ok, the halls smelled of smoke, even in the non-smoking room section. The WiFI did not work. But just spent a few hours in the room so it was ok. I would not stay there again. Very difficult to find and traffic in the area was horrible

Not bad for the price
Chose this hotel due to price and location. Just a few blocks away from a mall and many eateries. I wasn't sure about the hotel before arrival, because of the huge selection of places to stay in the area. Overall, not a bad choice for the money. Clean appearance, and friendly staff, although don't forget anything as they don't have the usual items many other hotels have for forgetful travelers.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
not too far from many things, and very accessible from the interstate. Many shops close by, including Dave & Busters, which was our reason for being in Indianapolis.

Nice stay
We really had no trouble with our stay. The main lobby decor was updated but the rest of the hotel was not. Pool was located outside and we were unable to use it due to the temperature. Otherwise, the stay was nice.

Better than expected for the price
Located at edge of city, but rapid access to downtown via highway system. Located near lots of services (food, stores, etc).

Good Hotel, Not Downtown
The Hotel was good overall, but I was mislead into it being located near downtown Indianapolis and also near the speedway. It was about 25 minutes away to downtown and 20 from the race way (with no traffic). I would recomend it as a good place to stay.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
There are several of your normal dining choices (burgers, pizza, mexican...) in a 5 minute driving radius. Alot of chain restaurants, but nothing special.

Best Western Caselton Needs Improvement
This is the worst stay I have had. The whole hotel was very unclean, my room entrance door and bath door had apparent wood damage from water, not just an inch or two it was a good foot. The wood veneer warped and rotted had an apparent attempt to camouflage the damage with stain and finish. The room smelled of must and mildew and with evidence of water at one time I would suspect mold. After my first night in the bed and seeing the worn blanket under the bedspread that had fussy balls indicated the blanket was quite old I had imagined they were not big on linen sanitation either. The entrance to the main lobby was sweltering they kept the temperature I think at 82 (several of us had a discussion with the clerk about why the lobby was so hot) it was not the kind of warm welcome you would expect. You were able to control the temperature in your room, but when the maid was finished cleaning we would come back to find the air conditioning shut off or raised to an uncomfortable temperature. The TV in my room had a mind of its own, after and hour and half of viewing it would automaticly shut down, which was frustrating because once you turned the tv back on you had to serach for the station you were viewing and adjust the volumn again. We did not know if it was the TV or if the hotel had programmed the tv to shut off to conserve on energy. I had attempted to find another hotel in the Indianapolis area but because of the events downtown everything was booked solid. The only positive I can think of was it was located conventiently for restuarants and shopping which is good because the hotel was definitley one that you did want to spend a whole lot of time in.
