Very pleasant experience!! My only complaint is the additional parking fee to park your car when you are paying to stay there already!

Old Gem in the heart of Indy
My wife and I have stayed here many times over several years. We love the look of the older hotel. It is beautiful. The rooms and hallways may seem small by today standards but the charm is worth it. The staff are always excellent and the location cannot be beat. Be sure to take advantage of the parking vallet service. The Turner Room is nice for breakfast or a cocktail at night with a great window view of Illinois Avenue.

Weekend stay at Canterbury
Check in at 5pm was very slow and room wasn't available. Front entrance is small if you are driving and in afternoon traffic it is difficult to pull up to unload luggage. Staff was attentive and polite. Room was small with well worn furniture. No wash cloth in the bathroom.

a lovely step back in time
Our first and lasting impression of this hotel was the friendly greeting and welcome by the Bellmen. They were very professional and appeared to genuinely be glad that we were hotel guests. The hotel was charming with many authentic details of beautiful craftsmanship. The lobby and lounge areas were comfortable and quiet. This was a welcome change from some of the more contemporary-styled hotel lobbies. Sidewalk construction was taking place during our stay but the bellmen gently guided us along and into their hotel with grace and care. I would have liked to have had a coffee maker in the room, but soon found that the complimentary breakfast was an excellent replacement. This hotel had the feel of a smaller, personally owned establishment. I would definitely return for another visit. May I again emphasize the friendliness of the bellmen - I only hope that they are mentoring future employees - they were so proud of their positions in the hotel.

Canterbury Hotel - December Stay
Loved being attached to the Circle Center and Convention Center! Stayed in the Penthouse which was beautiful, but the spiral staircase made bringing luggage up and down a challenge! Bathroom small and dark but okay.

American Farmer Degree
We were in Indianapolis for the FFA Annual National Convention for our children to receive their American Farmer Degree. We arrived late in the evening (11pm) and were greeted with a friendly staff. The hotel is beautifully decorated in the 1800's style and was very clean. It is centrally located right in downtown and we were able to walk everywhere we needed. Lots of restaurants, the theater, shopping mall, the convention center, etc. The breakfast buffet that is served in the morning is very tasty. Overall it was a very nice experience. The only thing that would have been nice would be to have a swimming pool or hot tub.

Not exactly the classy hotel I expected
Explicit instructions were left to make the bride and groom's stay more pleasant and fun, but this supposed upscale hotel lost those instructions, making the newlyweds uncomfortable and disappointed. However, my credit card was charged regardless. I feel for those coming to Indy in 2012 for the Super Bowl... expect the best hotels to be mediocre, and it goes downhill from there.

Enjoyable Stay
My sister and I enjoyed our stay while visiting Indianapolis for the Women of Faith conference at Conseco Fieldhouse. We had the car parked at the beginning of the stay and did not have a use for it until we left - everything was within walking distance. Very comfortable bed and room - never heard anyone else during our stay. We needed minor repair on the toilet but it was taken care of as soon as we notified the hotel of the problem.
